In my case (I use ISBOXER and a multi steps configuration) I included a 'face target then stop' step to avoid that behaviour. This way, they move to target but on the 3th or 4th step they will stop, face the target and IWT again. I'm pretty happy with this method.
did you do something like this as im also interested in stopping my guys running all over the place:

i have also been trying to figure out a way to make my paladin stop when i cast a heal spell but not having much joy
