    Default Rift - Recommended Hardware

I'm 5 boxing Rift and have really bad performance.
Specs are 2700k, 16GB ram 1333mhz, AMD 6970. Rift is on my SSD.
Current GFX settings are kinda low + I've enabled the low quality renderer and I'm not even getting 20fps.
Could this have anything to do with IS cpu settings?
If not, what kind of spec will I need for acceptable performance? (40 fps min)

Changed cpu strategy to select all cpus for every window and my fps is now 50-60.

I started up some RIFT trials earlier this morning and have been tweaking settings trying to find a way around the horrible low renderer route that is mostly recommended while multiboxing this game. What I just found... is that if I disable hyper-threading (or just not use the virtual cores in this case) that my performance shoots through the roof.

    The screenshot shows:

    • 5x RIFT Clients @ 1280x720
    • Foreground/Background FPS @ 30/30
    • Main Client @ Ultra (+Edge Smoothing AA)
    • Slave Clients @ Medium (+Edge Smoothing AA)

    Side Notes:

    • CPU usage shows 50% because the virtual cores are not being utilized and the physical cores are maxed
    • RAM usage is showing high because I currently have a RAM drive up at the moment (not with RIFT on it)
    • Currently using SLI -- GTX 580 (3GB) x2

Obviously, most of you guys run this game at 1920x1080 or a similar resolution, but what I was getting at was that my FPS was a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y horrendous prior to deselecting my virtual cores. I don't know if SLI hurts or helps this game, but the bottleneck at the moment is my CPU so it doesn't really matter.

Can you check if the game benefits from sli?

It would appear that it does.

Single GPU = 100% load w/ FPS loss
GPU x2 SLI = ~66% load holding fine at ~30FPS (which was what I had it capped at) (CPU limited at this point)

    Thanks!
Is there a way to change gfx settings on window swap like we do on wow?

I'm pretty sure the macro API doesn't allow for such things.

Too bad, I guess I'll stay with medium on all until I upgrade to a machine capable of ultra on all.
