5.2 quest Assault on Shaol'mara

Is this quest required to get further on the island and open the other quests up? Solo scenario that takes around 10 minutes for a good dps. Take that x 20 and ... yea.

Yep and there are two more after that .... for me X 27 (maybe 3 more one at each stage .... bleh)

The 2nd one is easy for dps, the 1st in harder, good luck with mages on that 10 minutes estimate, maybe dk but mages lol ... there is no healing and no way to get more health cept food and potions, and no repair.

You have to do the quests or you have some serious phasing problems on the island also.

The first quest sucks bad, especially with undergeared toons. However, you do get unlimited attempts and the boss's health does not reset upon wipe so if you're patient any toon can complete the scenario. My rogues only had about 420 gear at the time and it was a very long process.

The second quest didn't take nearly as long, but by the time my server had it unlocked I had full PvP gear, so I can't comment on the difficulty.


The good thing is the dailies it unlocks are very easy to multibox (at least the PvP ones are) and I'm getting more than 3,300 per day (9 toons), not including the special keys that unlocks the bonus gold room.

One other thing I discovered is the conquest award (50 points each day) does not have a category. So, for us boxers who don't have an RBG team, you can get 350 conquest for the week and cap out at 2150/2200 instead of 1800/2200 (the other points coming from random BGs or arena which cap at 1800).

Just finished the first (4 hours later) and I am halfway thru the second, which is much easier. I'm hoping the third doesn't take much time. Its frustrating trying to catch up and at the same time keep an eye out for Sha of Anger and Galleon raids.

What is the Horde version of this quest and is this each toon has to do it solo or can they do it as a group of 5 all at once? I have only done a few island quests on my solo toons and then went to leveling my restrodruid for my shaman team to /iwt in stag form. So I am a little out of it and wowhead didn't help much last time I was on it.

Not sure of horde version, but no it requires that you queue solo.
