    Default Purchasing new accounts

When setting up your multiboxing team, what is the easiest way to set up new accounts? I'll need a new registration key for each account and I'll also need to enable TBC for each account. Is it possible to purchase registration keys online from Blizzard? Is there any way to avoid having to purchase a new box of software from the store for each account?

Secondly, once I have purchased separate accounts, how easy is it to transfer characters from one account to another? I have heard that it is possible to transfer characters between accounts but that there are rules in place to safeguard against people using this to sell characters to others. Does anyone have any experience doing this? Do I simply need to be able to prove that the characters are being transfered between accounts all owned by the same person?

I'd like to add that I am very fond of dual-boxing.com! Since discovering it some time ago it really has helped to open up a brand new way to enjoy the game. Great work!

If all of your accounts are in the same name transfering chars should be smooth as butter.

I tryed to find a way to buy tbc online a while ago but didn't find anything, I know Blizz sold upgrades before but dunno about now. Why don't you want the boxes btw? It's epic to have 10+ wow boxes in your shelf. Myself got 9 legacy boxes (geek)

Well, I currently have 2 accounts and I'd like to set up a third. Then, I'd like to transfer 1 character from each of my existing accounts to the new account. Wondering how difficult that will be. I'll guess it's worth a shot.

Buy the battlechests to get TBC and WoW together. Some online sellers also just sell the codes but I can't recommend any first hand.

Transferring is easy as long as the last names match up. If they don't then you may still be able to do so but will most likely need to send in some form of ID. All of the details are on the account management page on worldofwarcraft.com.

    Default New accounts

I didn't even bother buying a second box/game when I set up my second account. I simply went to www.worldofwarcraft.com and clicked on the "free 10-day trial" on the right-hand side. I then upgraded to a monthly fee and upgraded again to TBC. 2nd toon up and running.

I started with 2 account when WoW was release.
    I have 2 level 70 on account 1, and a 1 70 on account 2.

I got my 3rd account 3 months ago. I tried to get the "online" codes and it was a hassle to get verified. I went to Best But the next day and bought a WoW + TBC $50 total. I did not realize there was a Battlechest set with both disc for $40. Too late, I opened and upgraded one of the trial accounts.

I paid $25 to xfer one level 70 from account 1 to account 2. The transfer was done from work, and done by the time I play in the evening.

About a month ago, I got my 4th account. By this time I have:
    Account 1: 3x 70
    Account 2: 1x 70
    Account 3: 1x 70

I then xfer 1 level 70 from Account 1 to Account 4 for another $25. There was some minor glitch in the the Paid Char Transfer and it took less than 48 hours to get my xfer completed.

Go with boxes or battlechests. $20 WoW, $20 expansion(If anyone charges more fuck them; I know gamestop is still charging like 30-40 for BC while walmart sells both at $20, and some places have battlechests on sale for $30)

Main account clicks "Refer-a-Friend" link at Acct Management page, sends email to alt acct
Alt acct signs up for 10-day trial through the refer-a-friend link/code
Alt acct registers WoW box's CDKey = 1st month free after 10day trial is over
Alt acct passes 10 days + 1st month and pays for first PAID month = Main acct gets 1 month free via the Recruit-a-Friend setup.

Repeat for each account to ease the monetary burden ;) Boxless trials upgraded don't come with the free month that I know of so it's $15-20 wellspent and what you'd spend anyways on the monthly regardless, you just have physical CDkeys to prove your ownership with.

I setup my additional accounts using a Trial first to get the first 10 days free. After that Blizzard will let you pay them directly with a credit card to upgrade to a regular accont for 19.99 and then to TBC for an additonal 29.99.

If you don't have a credit card, want to use PayPal, or want to save a little money I can suggest www.offgamers.com . They were a reliable vendor. Their prices are a little lower than Blizzard and of course no taxes Someone else mentioned getting verified was a hassle. They asked for a scan of a picture ID. I sent it and they sent my keys right away. They are fine, but it is a hassle. I had some money on my PayPal balance I wanted to go ahead and use so I opted for them instead of paying Blizzard directly.

The last name might be an issue. I purchased the second account from a friend and so the last names on the two accounts don't match. I am not sure that there's a way to change the name info. I'm a bit wary of contacting Blizzard about a transfer when they'll quickly discover I own two accounts with different names. Pretty sure that's against EULA (correct me if I'm wrong). Anyone have any insight into this?

Looks like the best approach is to just buy the battlechest. Thanks for all the replies so far!

Unless you're willing to risk losing every account you're multiboxing with, the best idea would be to ditch your friends account completely.

It's been said before in other poasts: as a multiboxer you are, without a doubt, going to attract attention and be reported at least once. If a GM sees 4 accounts in your name and 1 in a friends name, alarm bells are going to be ringing.

On the subject of buying WoW game keys online, I bought mine from an online-delivery site, they cost about £1 more than ordering the box online, but each of the keys were delivered within an hour of me ordering (first one needed phone verification which involved a 30sec phone call 15minutes after I ordered). I'll have a look through my emails and try to find the name of the website for you.
