There is a lot to be said for three shaman but I would go tank (pal); Healer (sham or priest); dps (mage). Ports are nice.

This will let you group without waiting for a tank, it will make you learn the three basic types.

I mean whats the plan start with minimal programing now and learn programing later? Or just learn it all now and get it over with ....
