    Default How to begin multiboxing?

So I have been looking at multiboxing over the last few years and always in the back of my mind "I should try that one day". I been playing WoW for about 5 years now and I figure hey what the hell I'll try boxing now. So for the last week or so I been watching video's and reading a fair bit about it. Now comes the clincher; how to begin!

First of all I figure Isboxer will be the one to use.
Secondly I kind of want to have three characters with eventually up to five when I'm confident enough.
Thirdly I want to start on a PvE server so by the time I get to max level I feel that I will be proficient enough to move up to the next stage.
Finally I feel that three shamans or three druids will be what I want to start with.

So how do I begin? Do I buy the software and then create three email accounts and then three battle.net accounts and then buy three games? Can I use the Blizzard RaF program to get leveling bonuses? What new servers should I start on and what servers should I steer clear of?

Any information I can get will be a world of help and thank you in advance if you feel like helping.

Start with the ISBoxer 7day trial.

You can set up all you accounts under the same battle net account using the same email. This will allow quick and easy transfers of characters between them, mounts, pets and achievements will be shared across all accounts, you can trade heirloom gear between accounts, etc. This will also allow you to use 1 authenticator for all your accounts.

Yes, you can and should use RAF to get yourself the XP bonuses and such.

If you're using PvE servers, there's probably not that many "bad" servers. I'd probably avoid any that are listed as "recommended" in the Blizzard list, those will generally be low-pop servers, which means a pretty poor economy. You can also check the Guild Forums to see if there's any multiboxing guilds out there you might want to join.

So how do I go about inviting myself to WoW for the RaF bonus'? Can an account really recruit the same account as RaF or do I need a separate Email?

BoA's aren't really an option as I already have one set of everything but getting two more sets will set me back weeks if not months of heroic dungeon grinding.

Just use the same email. Most people have set up RAF this way for multiboxing.

The point of being able to trade BOAs is that you don't need additional sets. Whatever BOAs you have on account 1 can be traded to any other account under the same battlenet, just like you would send them to new alts on the same account.

    Not just levelling BOAs either.

I personally used upgraded archaeology and inscription items to solo queue toons across all five of my accounts when I didn't quite have the honest ilevel without them to get into LFR. Very handy.

Sounds like you have done your research. Three shamans or druids is a great way to start. It will be easier to focus on learning the software (yes, ISBoxer) with a homogeneous group. As you become more familiar you can branch out to a mixed group and then a group of 5.

I've never used RaF (some might say I have no friends). The better time to do that may be when you get serious about multiboxing and want to level a bunch of teams. At the start I'd just take it slow and learn how to box

If you're gonna level through the LFD system ( Which I find the quickest way to level ) ganking isn't a issue and so that shouldn't limit you to a PvE server.
You could miss out on some epic WPvP

You put your right foot in, you put your right foot out. You put your right foot in and you shake it all about. You do the hokey-pokey, you turn yourself around, and that's what it's all about!

Seriously, though... everyone else seems to have answered this already so I have nothing more to add.
