When I get around to doing my RaF, I was wondering, do I have to make another b.net account to hold the RaF account, or can I just RaF another license on my main account?

You can use the same Bnet account. Just send yourself the invite and you should be good to go.
The original idea on RAF was to link your account to a brand new account belonging to a friend who you invited to try the game.
So RAF will work across multiple B.Nets as you and your friend will each have separate B.Net emails.
But you can RAF with yourself too.
In which case, the same B.Net or a different B.Net are both options.
You can have up to eight warcrafts on the same B.Net, and can call (or use the webchat support) to move accounts around, if the last name is the same and you know the secret question's answer.
Advantages to being on the same B.Net email:
a) One authenticator, for multiple accounts.
b) One www.warcraft.com log in, to manage each account.
c) Many mounts and achievements are shared across the entire B.Net.
d) Instant mail between your own toons, even if in different guilds.
Disadvantages of having them all on the same B.Net:
a) You cannot buy from yourself as easily, when transferring items via the neutral auction house.
b) Some issues with the pet battle system; you might need to log your other accounts off to pet duel.
c) You'll only have one Beta Key, per B.Net.
