Default Setting up my first 6-7box, suggestions/thoughts/advice?

Currently thinking about opening 6 new accounts (my current 70mil sp account being the 7th as a support/main).

I want to make the highest isk per hour ratting of some kind (mission spamming, or something I've never done before like warmholes or something?).

I'm currently inactive on my account so I don't have an alliance/corp. Therefore my toon is probably in Dabrid or somewhere deep in empire .

Any suggestions on what an awesome isk/hr 6-7box setup would be? I say 6 minimum because I might just retire my main (7th account) into a support/freighter/scout role.

Specifically, every time I go back to EvE I can never decide what I want to do because I don't have enough info since I'm returning from being inactive. So my question is regarding what the best ship-types would be to aim for due to new accounts, focusing on specific roles for each, and what the overall best race is to isk/hr efficiently.

Currently, I'm leaning heavily towards Amarr since ammo management in a 6-7box is rough so I wanted to shy away from Minny as much as possible. I do love the crap out of Caldari designs (specifically the Rokh) along with the easy-going optimal/fall-off of hybrids. However, their damage is just terrible compared to Minny or Amarr.

My issue with Amarr being a definitive choice is, quite frankly, you have to constantly switch between 3-6 different crystal types due to range being an issue. That and they just can't "reach" with Pulse weaponry, and their Tachyons aren't good punchers & cost a CRAP ton of power/cap.

So many variables to consider, and it is crushing me cause I want to play again only this time instead of single-boxing...i want to ultimate box 7 accounts >!

    Setup Specifics:
    7 accounts total
    6 new
    1 veteran (2002/2003 creation date)

What is a good end-goal to aim for in order to earn isk?

    Right now, I'm looking at:
    -2 guardians
    -5 something? Either Abaddon's, Geddons....not sure really.

    Thanks

Wow, these forums are even more dead than ISboxer's . What happened to eve?

There are only a few multiboxers left from these forums on eve atm.

My first question would be "why so many toons for just missions?". I ran 5 (2 logi 2 dps 1 noctis) and it was overkill tbh. I did select missions and always looted salvaged everything (I had 3 toons getting missions in a 5 agent hub (level 4's). Blitzing you don't need more than 2 toons usually.

As for ships, T1 frigs and cruisers just got a massive boost, so use them on the way up in standings. For level 4's Nightmares and Mach's are king of the dps tree (Marauders are nice too, but no need if you have a noctis toon and harder to skill into) for missions. Tengu's and Mach's are the normal "blitzing" ships (from what I understand) with a logi account on the side for tough fights.

You could go the drone route, but with the new AI your drones will get kill more often that you may be used to (especially if they are your only source of dps).
I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A bird will fall frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.

Why the hell are people so fond of the Tengu? It has terrible DPS compared to other ships less expensive?

As for why so many ships "just for missions", I don't plan to do "just missions". I'd like to eventually skill them up enough to get into a reasonable alliance and move out to 0.0 to do harder things that require 6-7 toons.

It seems multiboxing is on the fall in Eve . Been to several sites now that used to have tons of multiboxers in Eve, yet now they're ghost towns.

    What happened

Multiboxing is just as "normal" in EVE as it's always been (most of my corp dual boxes at the very least). Maybe no one replies to you because of (what I read anyway as) your piss poor attitude? You posted something and QQ about dead forums 3.5 hours later because no one answered you? Then QQ again in your followup post ("just for missions", multiboxing on the fall in EVE, several sites, what happened)?? Chill out and maybe some of the others who come to these forums a few times a week will give you a reply you like better.

Anyway. People are fond of the Tengu because it is highly tankable, highly mobile, and has good damage projection with HML's or better damage closeup with HAML's. When blitzing you're usually looking to hit particular spawns/targets and move around quickly to unlocked gates or loot something, so it's a "best of all worlds" type of ship. Don't overtank it, put some faction mods on it, and you can squeeze out more dps. Is it expensive? Yes, but you asked for "best ship types to aim for". T3 Cruisers are also heavily used in wormholes, null, and pretty much anywhere where you are doing higher end PVE/PVP.

As for your "not just for missions" thing, that's sort of up to you isn't it? I run 5 accounts and do PI, Trade, PVP, PVE, and mine, just not all at the same time or necessarily using all the accounts at the same time. If you're looking to run in roaming gangs using 6 or 7 accounts at once who aren't scouts then good luck. Managing the clickiness of EVE is pretty tough, so that restricts you to using capital ships, gate camps (use Tornados) and setups that aren't so mobile. If you're going for the all guns blazing type of thing I'd personally do 2 dps (cruiser, T3, battleship, dread), 2 logi (T2 logi, carrier), 1 JOAT (noctis, scout, cloaky, freighter, jump freighter), 1 tackler dps (cruiser, HIC, dread) or something of that sort. T3 Cruisers, Carriers, Dreads and Jump Freighters will make you valuable to wormhole groups or nullsec corps (2 of the things you mentioned). Good luck.

I apologize if I came off having a bad attitude .

It's just I've gone between 4 different forums now with regards to multiboxing, and no one answers. It seems my frustration bled through my post here :/. Two Years ago I would have had pages by now of people discussing the "best fits" to squeeze out or more theory-crafting for different types of encounters etc.

As for the Tengu, maybe it is just a preference kind of thing. I've found Legions to be more effective dps/tanking/mobility wise, but then again I intentionally try to avoid anything missiles since, generally speaking, their dps is always lower. Though I may be biased since the Tengu also looks as the name suggests hehe.

As for the "all guns blazing" sort of thing why would you choose to bring a tackler? Wouldn't it be more prudent to do 2 Logi, 4 T3's, and 1 Noctis?

The tackler would be for your "future endeavors". You could use him for DPS in the meantime.

Yea my current issue at the moment is figuring out what my "Dps" will actually be. I found that Abaddon's are much MUCH more dps (900+) with just pulsers alone. The problem is that everyone keeps harping on Amarr being only a singular Damage Type capable race. So even though their guns can touch upwards of 900-1000 with Large Mega Pulse II's on an Abaddon they're still sup-par dps compared to anything caldari that can change dmg type missiles.

My issue, again, is that overall I don't believe their dps to be THAT much more superior vs Amarr if even i'm fighting heavy resistance rats.

So right now I'm stuck between going Amarr or Caldari. It wouldn't be an issue, as much, if I were fighting between two different races of the same tank type (ie: amarr/gallente or caldari/min). However, whichever path I choose I cannot stray from without adding another 30++ days of train time for a shield or armor logi.

That, and gunnery skills won't help me with missiles so .

My question is, are 900+ dps (before drones) MegaPulse II Abaddon's that have a min/max range of 0 -> 83km, or even though Caldari are sup-par horrid damage the 600ish dps a Raven (before drones) or the "meh" Tengus are better in your opinion?

I haven't played in such a long time that things have changed in terms of how things work on the PVE side of things. My hardest issue is choosing a path that won't have be regretting dumping months of train time into the wrong path.

    Hence my EvE frustration

Right now I have my new guys training their sub-skills required for anything I choose (like Weapon Upgrades, Energy Grid Upgrades, etc etc), however in a week or two I'll hit that stage of training where I have to choose a path :/.

If i choose Amarr I take my Logi guys down towards a guardian, but if I choose Caldari my logi guys go towards the shield logi :].

Not to mention Fury Heavy Missiles are expensive fired from 4-5 toons at once :P.

First off, I used to play 2 Abaddons for dps in missions (I was doing CPF, caldari missions) and had them both beam. I tried 1 pulse 1 beam and found that the BS's liked to hover outside good pulse damage range. I also recommend faction crystals, as T2 die too damn quick. If I were to go back to missions with not much isk to spend I'd do 2 Abaddons and 2 Guardians again easy. Ravens are doable (again cruise for range means less damage, but good projection) with basilisk support. If you have the cash I highly recommend Nightmares for DPS.

Abaddons are very common in nullsec doctrines at the moment, as are navy apocs, so going lasers/amarr is never bad (for future planning). Missiles are bad for anything beyond small gang PVP, and if larger scale PVP is a potential goal for you later then skip them. The only rats that I had problems with using laser dps was I think Guristas, and just skip those.

If you want me to tell you a path to make your life easier this is it: 2 Abaddons w. tech 2 lasers (both pulse and beam) and tech 2 tank and tech 2 drones, 2 Guardians with tech 2 tank and tech 2 drones, 1 Loki pilot (for frig killing in missions) with tech 2 everything, and a jack of all trades Noctis/Freighter/Jump Freighter/Indy guy. Upgrade your Abaddons to Nightmares when you get the isk and put T2 Tachyons on them and you will chew through level 4's like there is no tomorrow. Buffer/Resist tank everything, feed the battleships cap and armor reps and throw 1 armor rep/1 cap to each Guardian at the start and throw 1 rep from each on the Loki and you can ignore the Guardians after that on most missions (orbit them around 1 BS with an afterburner running and a buffer tank on them).
I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A bird will fall frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.

This is actually what I wanted to do, but wanted to make sure Raven's or missiles weren't like hidden dps after resist calculations vs Abaddon's. Also, what I figure is that if I have enough hammerhead II's on the field it won't matter about having a loki. I'm using ISBoxer so drone management won't be an issue for me.

Essentially what I plan to do is 4 Abaddon's, 2 Guardians, and a Noctis :3....though I might nix the noctis for another Guardian for immortal tanking potential (also to ensure that if one guardian gets jammed I'm not in trouble). That or switch the noctis for another Abby for more dps & drones for anti-frig support.

I used to solo the hardest lvl 4 missions in my Maelstrom prior to leaving almost completely 8-9 months ago. It just took awhile, but I also don't want to waste too much time salvaging with a Noctis to squeeze out another 5-10mill if I could have done another mission or TWO that are each 30mill in bounties/reward if I ignored salvaging altogether .

Lastly, do you forsee 4 Abaddons, and 3 Guardians (or 4 Abbys + 2 Guards + 1 noctis) being shunned for highest tier pve such as wormholes etc in nullsec? That is my ultimate goal is the highest end possible PvE.

Also, are incursions no longer worth doing? I heard they got nerfed, but I'm thinking if I solo'ed incursions with my 7box i'd be able to make it worth my while (since i get paid quite a bit with 7 toons in an incursion lol).

    Thanks m8

ps: Nightmares only seem to be usable if I use a Basilisk for shield repping. So I'll have to wait a bit longer before I use those as I can't mix and match them with Abaddons. Otherwise their DPS is weak.
