Looking For Raid with all 5 - Sharing stories.

Hey everyone,

Finally started playing WoW again. Started back up in early December. Took a break from SWTOR. Anyway, heroics pretty much down, sitting at 465 to 475 ilevel, reps done and so on. I started the raids and was lucky with my hunter. Got the Sha gun on his first run. I got it from a coin if that matters. Got some nice pants for the regular loot, used a coin and got the gun. So, coins do work for weaps and you can get two pieces from one boss.

Anyway, I ran a group of 5 in LFR and dps was about 40K average each. I took 5 dps. A hunter, boomkin, elemental shaman, shadow priest and a mage so they could stay back and just blast away. It went fine, we were in the top middle of the dps and no deaths. There were a couple of comments from people, but after the dps numbers started showing nothing happened, no one was kicked and it went smooth. I've only done this twice for fear of retaliation.

Is anyone else running a 5 man group through LFR? Just curious how that's going for everyone. Any comments? It's much easier to hit 60k to 70K dps on one character, much harder with five different classes.

On another note, I now think Shado Pan heroic is one of the easier heroics. It took me ten tries or so to feel that way. Just make a macro targeting the orbs, have your healer dps them too and they all die within seconds so you can go back to the boss and continue the kill.

I'll run my 5 through lfr when needed; for every run where someone says somethig there are two or three that are silent. If you're worried about the hate, just kick the offending player. LFR is fairly simple with only a few bosses in the first part of Heart of Fear being boxer unfriendly. As long as you are actually playing the bosses should go down without a problem, also queue with a healer and enjoy the near instant queue.

My guys are all 484-486 ilvl and just blindly mashing buttons nets me around 67k. Sadly this still puts me in the top five dps slots on any day accept Tuesday (when actual raiders are running alts and friends through.)

I'm going to disagree with you on Shado-pan, it's not that it's hard, but there's so few mobs to kill and they just bow to me after being defeated, very unsatifying when I'm trying to farm cloth.

Are you running 4 of the same class? Much tougher to get those numbers with 5 different classes. Also, top dps in your raids is only 67k? We have guys well into the 80s, 90s and 100K range consistently throughout the raid. Sometimes well above that. At that iLevel I would assume all heroics are fairly easy.

Shado pan isn't that hard, but it is the hardest for me hands down. I LFR with my 3 DPS and Healer, then run again with my tank and healer. I don't like having to do it twice but I like to perform well and doing it this way really boosts my performance in there. I've never, ever had anyone say or ask if I was multiboxing. I usually am pretty close to the top performance wise, and boxing LFR makes LFR more fun.

One time I said something on one toon, then a guy responded, and I replied on a different toon on accident and played it off by claiming the slave toon was my wife and went to let the cat in.

another time I had broadcasting enabled and ran a slave into the wind lord and told everyone I was very sorry my cat hopped up onto the desk and hit num. lock!

My cat is an amazing scapegoatcat.

Also, it's not really harder to get good numbers out of different classes, it's all about how you have them set up. My Hunter does 200k on Wind Lord (AoE) and he's a slave I'm usually driving from my healer on that fight. My other two DPS are shaman and warrior.

What's harder is timing all the procs on only a couple of buttons with 5 different caster classes. It's easy with let's say 5 mages since they all use the same macros. It's not quite as easy with a lock, shaman, druid, shadow priest and hunter. And yes, on some bosses the dps goes way up. Overall right now they land in the low 40s for the whole instance, moving around and so on. I have to reset it with bosses and see what the dps is. Of course numbers go way up at the target dummies lol.

yes, cats are amazing. I have to take mine to the vet on Thursday. His name is Asmodean, ozzy for short, and he got worms.

I have all my DPS using their procs via macros setup from within ISboxer. I have 1 button for ST DPS and 1 button fit AE DPS and a few more for useful abilities and CDs. My class and spec choice allows me to do this, I think it'd be harder with some specs.. Like Fire Mage or MM hunter.

shaman dkx4, so no mixed comp there (Thought about bringing one up, but opted to work on the shaman team instead.) I've had raids where I am top 3 dps, but often there's one or two guys who will bring 100k. Not complaigning, I prefer any raid where people are at the keyboard and not afk on their mount.

I usually have my tank geared dk queued as a dps so he lags behind by a large margin but it saves me from having to run the instance multiple times.

Good idea with the tank. I didn't think about that. A little tougher with all ranged to do that, but still a good idea. I usually wimp out and run him separate since tanking is a little tougher. Taunts after 10 stacks, taunts after breaths and so on.

What about tank gear and tank trinkets, etc?

Well when I needed gear I'd have him in tank spec, it actually saved the raid a few times, such as on Empress, or lei shi.
