    Default Razer Naga question

    Hey folks,

I'm looking to buy a naga mouse and have one question...

Is the new naga with only 6 extra buttons as effective as the old one with 12? Can buy either but just wanted your input

    Cheers

Edit: supposed to say razer, bloody auto correct lol

Do you mean the Razer Naga Hex? I haven't used the Hex, but it looks like it also requires Razer Synapse, which a lot of people are not happy about. Luckily my Naga is an old one that can still use the legacy drivers, but I believe any new Razer mouse is going to use Synapse. There have been a lot of complaints about Synapse being intrusive, glitchy, killing performance, reseting profiles, not recognizing the mouse at all...things like that. I raged about it on my site a year ago and I still get hundreds of hits a week on it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, as much as I've loved my Naga, if this one dies or I'm otherwise forced to use Synapse, I won't be buying another Razer mouse. The Logitech g600 has been on my upgrade list for quite some time.

I traded in my mx518 for a razer naga last spring when I was playing tera and I'm afraid I haven't been impressed. Synapse occasionally breaks its little mini macros for no reason. Logitec is miles away the better software.

I've liked the G600 so far.
It advertises 20 G-Keys, which is false.

You have 12 G-Keys on the side of the mouse.
A left and right click, an extra button under the ring finger (which they refer to as a G-Shift key).
There is a scroll wheel, which can tilt left or right or be pressed down.
There are two buttons, towards the palm of the scroll wheel.

The Logitech software is great; it is the same software as other Logitech devices such as their gaming keyboards.
With the mouse you can have three profiles, each with their own configurable color combination... 16.7 million colors, they advertise.

You can map scroll wheel left or scroll wheel right to strafing.
    They're considered G-Keys...
The G-Shift is a good key for Ventrilo Push to Talk...

    Just my two cents.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.
