3 Melee Mixed Team: 4 comps to think through
Hey guys,
I'm pretty new in this forum. Reading a lot since a few weeks and starting posting right now. Great community, I'm happy this forum exists!
As a beginner in boxing I want to box 3 melees. Main focus of the group will be battlegrounds, older raids and current dungeons as far as possible. Maybe even MoP-heroics with only my 3 toons, I'll try. Arena would be nice but it's a long way. We'll see. :-) A Warrior is mandatory to me because they are fun, I ever want to play a Warrior and I never had one.
Warrior is Protection in PvE.
I would love to get your opinions about my brainstorming for class compositions. Please let me know what you think. I started with the following team:
RestoDruid + Warrior + Enhancer
RestoDruid will DPS as cat as long as no healing is required. I've done the first 3 cata dungeons with my old 85 Druid. Warrior and Shaman started @80 with no equip after RAF and are level 83 now. Was tough at the beginning, since it's my very first boxing attempt, but I cleared the first three dungeons. In 4th dungeon (Stoned Core? Don't know the English name) last boss (Azil) was impossible for me. Couldn't get the aggro of all adds because I have to drive the druid in healing intense moments. Have to change that in future.
But all in all clearing dungeons with 3 men worked great. 3 DPS for trash and in specific phases of a boss and enough heal in all situations.
In PvP I would mainly drive the resto but haven't tried yet. The big plus is the great mobility and a healer who can dps in melee (as cat) if no healing is required.
HolyPala + Feral + Warrior
I'm brainstorming how good a holy pala would fit into a 3 men melee team.
In PvP: Feral + Warrior with Charge. It has to be awesome to stand there with your Pala, healing everyone and charging your foes with your DPS.
In PvE: Every toon is in melee range and the healer can dps if possible. No need to switch stances like a resto Druid.
I think a Feral maybe fits a little bit better to a Warrior than an Enhancement Shaman in PvP. Primarely because of the charge. On healing side I can imagine that the Holy is a little bit better at least in PvE. But I'm not experienced enough with Palas or Shamans.
What do you think about the synergies of these 3 specs?
RestoSham + Feral + Warrior
Like the comp before: Driving from healer and charging all over the place in PvP. What bugs me is, that the RestoSham can't dps in melee range. So, I can't imagine this comp to be as much fun or effective as the other both. It's not really 3 men melee team, is it?
HolyPala + Enhancer + Warrior
This comp loses the double charge. Sad. But in this comp we have the advantage of a HolyPala as healer who is in melee range. This comps sounds like fun, too. But I have not enough insights in a Shaman or Paladin. And again: Does an Enhancer fits better to a Warrior than a Feral for multiboxing?
What do you think?
BTW: I've not included DKs in my brainstorming. I want to play a Warrior and I don't think DKs matches very good (charge+pull?!?). A Monk as healer could be an option. But he has the same buffs as a Druid and I would prefer a Druid over a Monk in most cases.

Hi Dusl
I haven't been multiboxing that long either and so far I'm really enjoying it. Like you I started out with 3 but moved to 5 not long after. So far I have 1 team at 87, another at 85, another at 80 and 1 leveling now at 37.
In 3 of my teams I have a warrior and feral druid, in fact my first team which was 3 was Arms Warrior/Feral/Disc Priest.
Like you I chose the team because of the double charge. The double charge works great especially if you're driving from the healer. They also both have a way to charge to an ally (intervene and wild charge in caster form) which can be useful in fights where you have to get somewhere or get out of something fast and there's no enemies to charge, simply place your healer there and then charge your healer.
Warriors are super fun this expansion and have an amazing amount of mobility with charge, intervene and heroic leap and great damage. They also put out a lot of damage in arms spec and are fairly multibox friendly in terms of setting up their dps 'roatation'.
Ferals I've been finding also really strong this expansion, but they do require a bit of babysitting due to the positional requirements of some of their attacks. They're also not as easy to setup macros/priorities for because of the nature of the class mainly the combo point system and the many buffs/debuffs they have to maintain to maximise dps.
Its not impossible though. My first suggestion would be to drive from the druid that way you'll have the most control over them but at the same time that's not always feasible as a lot of the time it's best to drive from the tank.
My second suggestion would be to tank with the druid and have the warrior as Arms. With that being said if you decide you'd still rather play as feral and not drive from the druid like I've done they still put out great damage.
You'll need to play around with castsequence macros and work on timing of abilities. I have serveral macros for my druid including one for single target trash, single target bosses and AoE.
For single target trash you can simply just use something like
/castsequence reset=target Mangle, Mangle, Mangle, Mangle, Mangle, Ferocious Bite
Trash rarely lives long enough to bother with bleeds and there's no need to use shred.
For bosses the macro I have is pretty long and I'm constantly updating it (not at my wow comp right now so I can't get it). You'll need to spend lots of time in front of a target dummy trying to perfect it.
It attempts to maintain Rake and Rip on the boss, using Shred as a filler and Ferocious Bite at other times. It's not perfect but it works alright. The only thing is you have to make sure you are behind the boss and if you have to move away from the boss for any reason it throws off the rotation.
For AoE my macro is exactly like my single target trash except with swipe instead of Mangle. I also have a seperate binding for Thrash to maintain the bleed.
I have many other macros, some that I remember and that you might find useful include
with Glyph of Savagery
/castsequence reset=combat (or target) Savage Roar, Null
I'm still trying to find a better way to mange Savage Roar, I've considered putting a step into ISBoxer that only triggers every 10 secs that uses Savage Roar.
/castsequence reset=target Faerie Fire, Null
Another thing that I find important when using a feral druid is an addon to allow me to keep track of their debuffs and their procs on my master. I use MSBT for things like predatory swiftness so I am able to utilise the buff for offheals or CC.
If feral seems like too much work (it can be) enhancement is a great spec that provides a hell of a lot of buffs and utility (hero!). My experience so far with enhancement is only upto level 37 though so I'll leave it to someone with more experience to comment on the spec.

Hey redmosez,
thanks for your reply!
> Like you I started out with 3 but moved to 5 not long after.
Like you I switched to 5 toons, too!
A few hours after my posting here, I bought 2 additional accounts and leveled 2 teams of 5 men from 1 to 80. Because I had only 7 days left on my RAF for two of my first three accounts, I wasn't around here a while and was RAFing the hell out of my toons.
The decision between 3 guys was too hard. Now it's a lot easier to find a comp.
What have you decided to go for in your A team?
My melee team is now 82 and consists of a ProtWarrior, WWMonk, HolyPala, Enhancement and FrostDK. I removed the Druid because I wanted to play a Pala as a Healer, so I don't need plate with strength 3 times (DK, Warr, Pala) and a Feral would compete against the Monk. It was primarely a decision of style and equipment needs of my specs.
> Warriors are super fun this expansion
Yes, it's great to multibox with him. Very easy rotation and good damage.
> enhancement is a great spec that provides a hell of a lot of buffs and utility (hero!).
Absolutely! My Shaman had no DPS all the time, but now in Cata, where everyone has "normal" gear after the first quests, he rocks. I think the time before he was just undergeared. Besides the offheal and buffs, Reincarnation is awesome. Don't want to miss it.
