Default New and Tad Bit Overwhelmed

I'm just dual-boxing. I have Jamba and use ISBoxer (confident enough with it from the reviews here that I bought three years).

Everything has been going fine. I've watched a couple tutorials from MiRai ( /swoon).

My first issue is that earlier today I wanted to do Sha on my hunter, which isn't one of my boxed characters. This is the first time I have used a character that isn't boxed as I just started yesterday. I shut down my second account and was certain Jamba and ISBoxer wasn't enabled on my hunter. When the Sha fight started, I couldn't use any of my keybinds. Oops. I found myself having to click to finish the fight (I felt so noobish). Anyway, my bar had the appearance the keybinds were still in place, but clicking them did nothing.

So, I'm missing something that is probably glaringly obvious. What do you do when you switch to a non-boxed character to keep everything as it was prior to boxing? (on my boxed characters their bindings are set per character). I probably need to turn off something ..the little arrows and letter thing was still on the screen. All the tutorials are helpful, and I'm sure it is something simple. But all the information is really overwhelming, at the moment.

I'm having a blast. Thank you for the great information. <3

Do you need to load your solo characters from IsBoxer? You could just run WoW the normal way when playing solo.

But if your WoW keybinds were not working, it means your IsBoxer keybinds are turned off. The letter thing with the arrows on the upper left of the screen needs to be on. Keybinds are on the one on the left.

    Oh, and welcome to multi-boxing!!!

Oh, you know, that may be it. I was boxing then logged one of the characters out and shut down the game. The other character I switched to my hunter. That one was probably still linked to ISBoxer. I will try to exit the game completely and then restart just for my non-boxed character and see if it works. I didn't think of that. Thank you : )

Thank you for the welcome too. It is so much fun. I've been watching a boxer on Twitch tonight too (40 characters). I'm so impressed by all of you who do more than two. Maybe one day I will try after I learn the ins and outs of the programs.

What you're explaining isn't normal behavior and you should share your config for better support.

Key maps were probably still enabled. If you wanna solo with in game keybinds only, make sure you disable them.

Depending on how much disk space you have (and how much hassle you can tolerate) you can have a separate WOW folder for your solo characters and one for your multiboxed characters. That's how I do it, in part so I can use different video settings and keep my add-ons in order.

isboxer makes its own config files. so each char has its own settings.

I know it's new, but you may want to consider how you go about your setup. Meaning, if you box and do solo stuff, it may just be easier for your setup to accommodate both to leave keymaps on. I know I am being very vague. I think once you drill down into your setups you will understand.

The good thing is, it was SHA. When developing my setup, I would work the bugs out by going into my own instances. If I got something to a point where I thought it was good, maybe go test it out in a 40m raid (ie: AV).

I use ISboxer when I solo. I have a setup just for my raid toon with a dxnothing window that I use to magnify warnings and cast bars on my second monitor. It is helpful for someone like me That gets distracted easily
