I have always dreamed of a space game that is everything these guys sound like that want this game to be. If it turns out to be that.. i will be there for sure. I was hoping SWtoR space combat would be like that and not the system they have in place now. SWtoR still has an amazing opportunity to make the game equally about the planet game play ( tradition MMO like it is ) and true space combat. IF it ever accomplishes that.. that would be fantastic! I'll be keeping an eye on this for sure.

    Hi lyonheart

yes it does look promising,i played the original, and looking back on it now ,modern day it does look, not so good ..but the gameplay was what made it,and it was advanced for its time..the premise drew you in.
start with a 100 credits,be a trader,be a bounty hunter..you could only travel so far to planets and there was always this effort to try to get to the new planets, just out of reach, you never knew if you would be ambushed by pirates etc
And the combat, when you released a missle and saw it follow probabaly for what seemed ages, and then blow it up,was satisfaction indeed, great memories
Hopefully they can recreate that in this modern version, and give people the same feelings of the original game..we shall see

I remember playing the original wire-frame version. Heck, I remember playing the original Sim City when it was just black blocks and specs on a grey background (C-64). Fun times. I'm looking forward to Sim City 5 and I recall hearing about a new version of Elite. If they can keep the core gameplay of the original and add new graphics and effects, I'd be very happy.

yes this was kind of what the original looked and played like..at the time it was way ahead of anything else..etc..looks iffy but the gameplay at the time just drew you in..
