Thread: Tank Choice

    Default Tank Choice

Has the paladin speed boost affected anyone's choice to have a paladin as a tank for a group? I generally do the Paladin, mage x 3, and priest or shaman. But since the paladin speed boost, I am beginning to think of a new team with a different tank, like bear druid, or warrior even.

I'm still happy with my paladin, though the boost is annoying. Doesn't seem to stop most people from using a paladin, most just swap to a slower slave to lead while they travel or "stutter" travel with the main.

I have a pala + 4x shaman group, and use the 'stutter' technique to move around mounted. However, I started a new team a while ago, with 4 disc priests, and opted to use a Warrior tank. My first choice was Paladin, but the speed boost really annoys me.

I have gone monk and I love it. I used to have a pala but I was a bit tired with it so I decided to try the monk class out when I restarted my accounts. And I can truly say I am never going back to the pala again.

Been a few posts here saying that monk tanks are bit rough to box. How are you doing in heroics with yours?

I love my druid tank...super easy aggro, and battlerez.

I have a Paladin, DK and a Warrior, and I prefer the Paladin by far. Damage is a lot more reliable (damage taken) as opposed to DK which can be really spiky, and cooldown line up nicely without any micro-managing, and all cooldowns are proactive not reactive. I really like my Pally tank.

I think paladin tanks are the easiest to manage than most other classes, though i haven't used monk yet, and only played a druid tank up to about 22, however from what i have seen, paladin seems to be the fav, which is why its a pain in the ass for the speed boost and the need to stutter travel. however I do as Khatovar said, and witch to the slower toon. Though this caused me to wipe in a random pvp moment when i got ganked and my mage seemed to pull "agro" from the guy lol, i wasn't ready and he was higher level than me. All well

If you go with 3x ele as dps, I really recommend a warrior. They have an ability called skull banner that lines up with every ascendance. It's so good for boxers in dungeons since it will be up for every boss. Alltough warriors take a bit more micromanagement.
