Question Nvidia 670 or 6xx owners, I have a few questions

Does anyone have problems with driver crashes since 5.0 as detailed in this thread from wow tech forums? The problem is with the Dx11 crashing out and for a few people the Dx9 is also crashing. I know we should be using Dx9 (and I will). I want to see if any boxers experienced problems and if any particular driver versions are working better than others.

I will be replacing my Sapphire 6970 2gb with the Evga 670 4gb. The 6970 is running close to 100% load even with graphic detail macros keeping things light on the non focused window. When I switch focus to another character redraws are really slow and there is the occasional small artifact that worries me (card temps are good <70C, Vram usage ~ 1gb). This seems like a good time to jump ship to a new card. The 6970 is going into my room mates Htpc/gaming machine to replace an Ati 48xx.

I don't anticipate any problems with the switch but I want to make the transition as smooth as possible. Also, woot for the (steam download) bonus games from Newegg for certain video card purchases this holiday season.

I have a Asus 670, and am experiencing no problems at all as far as crashes are concerned.

I run 1 toon on ultra'ish settings (low shadow Q, and low water Q) and the slaves at low settings except particle density, no macros involved. I can enter SW at peak time and run around without lag, at around 20 FPS, at any other area in the game I have good FPS to the point where I don't really care, it's capped at 60 FPS (I think) and working great.

Thanks Blubber, that helps. With IsBoxer it is really easy to adjust graphics when swapping leader/master while questing. My non-leaders have everything on minimum and everyone has the graphic slider at the bottom setting.

I know, but I'm way too lazy to set it up, also, I don't find myself swapping windows that often.

Thanks. I think the huge hubbub may be much ado about nothing.

I have an evga 670 4GB. I have had it about 2 weeks and I have had one driver crash in that time. Maybe a total of 12 hours of play time. I restarted all my clients and they worked fine after the crash.

    Edit: using DX11
