Let me just make sure i understand you correctly. I've never done this boosting thing before, it was not around when i used to play.

Are you saying i should level my shaman to 85, then I should solo HoL the whole time while i have the other 2 characters just follow me around? Or do I need to solo dungeons closer to the characters level that i'm boosting?

Also I was planning on having a 3 druid team eventually, So would i boost 2 of them with my shaman then gift the levels back from the 2 druids to a druid on the shamans account?

Boosting (aka power-leveling) other players (your own characters or your buddy) has been around since instances have been around.

Each instance has a minimum level requirement before a player can enter it, so you can't bring level 10 characters to Halls of Lightning -- That's why there's this thread on how people have chosen to go about it.

Boosting is a lot of personal preference and comes down to how much of a rush you are to finish the instance or how efficient you'd like to be. People either put the slaves on tow or they figure out spots to park them throughout the instances so that they don't get killed by accident. There is no plain and simple answer on how to go about it because if there was you had better believe that I'd sticky it at the top of every forum around here.

Questing can be boring for some, while at the same time, boosting can be just as boring for others. Mix it up, have fun with it, learn and share techniques along the way, and don't burn yourself out in the process. You have 90 days of RaF time to figure out what works best for you.

You're running instances at the levels of the characters you're boosting.

So if your druids are currently lvl 10 you would take them to Deadmines and boost till 15. At 15 you head over to Stockades, etc (this is if you're Alliance). The problem you'll run into with an 82 shaman boosting is when you hit Lich King instances your shaman will have difficulties or not be able to solo the instances.

You have 90 days of RAF so how you go about leveling your teams will depend on how many teams you plan on leveling. If you only want a Druid x 3 team then you have plenty of time to quest to 80 and speed won't be an issue for you.

Gifting of levels will depend on how you linked your accounts. For each character leveled 1 to 80 on a recruit account you'll have 39 levels to give to the veteran account.

Thanks guys, think that pretty much clears up all my original questions.

1 more though I just thought of.

My room mate is the one that got me to started playing again, How would it work if he did RAF to get a 2nd account and we used both our mains to boost my 2 and his 1 alt? would the XP end up getting halved ?

As long as the accounts that are RAF are all in the same group you get 300% regardless of level. You can have an 85 and a 10 together and still get 300%. They have to be in the same group though, and summoning only works till 80.

I honestly think that leveling all the way to 90 and then starting back over is better. Makes it less brutal on the mind when you know every time you play a different set you gotta start at 80.

His second account wouldn't get the RAF experience, characters need to be within 4 lvls of each other. You would have to boost all 4 accounts for him to use RAF.

Also keep in mind that questing has been very badly affected by CRZ if you play on pvp servers. Getting from 50-60 is pretty painful right now.

    For RAF to work:
    a) The accounts need to be directly RAF linked; and
    b) The characters need to be grouped; and
    c) The characters need to both be level 79 or lower; and
    d) The characters cannot be more than +/- 4 levels apart; and
    e) The quest or mobs need to not be grey to either character

    If you have a chain:
    A > B > C
    A > D > E

And you have a level 85 or 90, on account A.
That means, your new group of low toons on BCDE will each have one RAF link that fulfills the four conditions.
    A > B and A > D will not meet the requirements.
    But B > C and D > E will.

Therefore BC and DE all get the RAF bonus.
Just because AB doesn't meet the requirements does not mean that BC cannot meet the requirements.
