WoW! Thanks so much everyone! I had read somewhere that Mirai couldn't share V-Ram... and I wasn't sure what exactly he was saying but got concerned whether my two card idea would work. By the way Mirai, I am thrilled by the news that they all share the driver. If I can run DX9 and five-box on Ultra I will be miles happy. I wanted to get something more powerful than my EVGA 460 GTX 2GB for five boxing and the EVGA 670 FTW 4GB was at the right price point, though it is another twenty dollars less at Amazon right now. I was thinking 4GB would be 1GB per slave (I am a generous owner) and I myself would have the 460 2GB all to myself. Evidently, by the results Ualaa is getting (and I don't know that I will get those results as my system is not quite that good,) the 4GB might be enough ram for all five toons.

Thanks again to everyone who chipped in!

The number of monitors you use and the number of computers you use is pretty much personal preference. To get the most accurate answer/result to your question you're going to have to test out the differences between DX9 and DX11 for yourself to see how your system handles them.

If WoW only had one static set of video options and there was only one type of video card in the market, then the answer would be much more straightforward. Some people like to play with their Shadows turned up while others like their Shadows turned down and their View Distance turned up. Some people like to turn up Ground Clutter so that the ground looks more populated with flora for a more realistic look, and some people like their Environmental Detail turned up so that they can see objects like fences further off in the distance.

Also, if each of your game clients is running at the exact same resolution (e.g. ISBoxer's Instant Swapping is enabled), then that's going to impact performance as well. 1280x720? 1920x1080? 2560x1600? Resolution plays a large part in the stress that's put on a CPU/GPU while processing what is on the screen(s).

There are so many factors (both in and out of the game) and every single slider in WoW's video settings is going to use a part of your CPU or GPU in some way, shape, or fashion. I've been meaning to build a FAQ-like sticky for this forum to help answer questions like these, but I've really been slacking lately.

Where do I choose DX9 or DX11? I was looking under System/Graphics and didn't see it as an option...

Thanks Mirai, I looked under Advanced. Must have missed it. Putting in the 670 tonight so I can see if it works before I pay for the extra warranty before the hurricane hits and I lose internet for a week and miss the deadline.

I checked, had three accounts on DX9 and two accounts (the new ones, which are RAF linked to existing accounts) defaulted to DX11.
They're all set to DX9 now.

Pretty sure 10x DX9 is going to work better on a single card, then 10x DX 11.
Also will lower the settings somewhat; only seeing objects/mobs/creatures further away is a priority, beyond that just high enough to notice things like Ring of Frosts on the ground...
