I snagged 5 for a rainy day.... never know when they'll come in handy![]()
Why do you guys keep buying them?
Unless you wanna move from x boxing to y boxing (y > x) I don't see the point.
Am I missing something here?
I guess, but I just did all classes x 5 when I rafed. Bought 3 more just to raf monks ( gonna transfer them to main accounts)
Grr. I'm tempted to do this. my problem is A. I'm OCD [feel compelled to maximally exploit RAF]. and B. I'm cheap.
I have 10 accounts that I want to keep.
so, doing some quick math...
if I get 10 battle chests, and raf 10 new accounts [each account rafs 1 new account], and level basically 5 sets of 4. [e.g. leveling 1 throw-away toon for each keeper toon]
then when I get 2 teams to 80, I grant a third team to 80 on the Keeper toon, minimizing the pain somewhat. E.g.:
Level 20 monks, 20 hunters, 40 total toons leveled, then grant i dunno, warriors. leaving me 30 keeper toons to 40 total toons leveled.
as long as you do it in sets of two, its not horribad. and you avoid the cost of xfers. Or is there a flaw in my math.
This of course requires 2 boosters. And as long as you do it in sets it doesn't seem too bad...
Edit:
Other considerations I left out. My math is that per 10-man team and RAF + transfer half, discounting RAF costs itself, transfer costs accumulate to 125 dollars per team. so if I want 2 teams, that's 250 dollars in transfer fees. 275 total, versus 50 for the 'throw away toons' method.
Also I didn't really think in terms of time, but certainly the transfer method is fastest... whether no RAF and just level what I want to play is faster than the cheap route of leveling throw-away toons is trickier. I'm guessing RAFing twice as many toons is still faster. Because it'd take roughly 3x the time investment, ergo 20x3 = 60, versus 40 for 'cheapo' RAF.
I've pretty much talked myself into it at this point, unless someone points out some flaw in my logic or math...
when you guys say you are buying up a bunch of these - are they activated right away into a RAF configuration or put on a specific bnet, or can you just hold the digital keys for later?
Just bought 10. if you buy from the blizzard store http://us.blizzard.com/store/index.xml then the codes are emailed to you. If you buy through battle.net they are associated automatically with the battle.net you are logged in.
Quote from email:
That bit about already-being-attached is probably worth keeping in mind. I don't know if attached=activated or not, but even if attached is not activated, it would limit your flexibility with respect to utilization. The digital game(s) you purchased are now available for download to your computer from your Battle.net account.
If you made this purchase from Battle.net (instead of the Blizzard Store), your license is already attached to your account.
Otherwise, the Game Key(s) for your purchased title(s) are listed above for reference. To access your digital game(s), simply follow these instructions:
The answer lies at the bottom of page 1.

How many accounts can I add to one b.net? I was once told 8. Is that still true?
