Thread: Stuck at 87

    Default Stuck at 87

My ten man team (4 DKs, 1 priest, 5 monks) is stuck at 87. I can't move to the next zone of quests because they require 88. I don't like dungeons because I can't level both groups at once. I have tried PvP, but taking 10 into IoC worries me. I will be doing the AV weekend, but if it wasn't for that I would be stuck grinding mobs outside dungeons. Anyone have any brilliant ideas for leveling two groups at the same time (not in raid group)?

P.S. Out of desperation I tried RFD and was surprised that I was only getting 6k xp per mob. WTF is up with that? I can kill stuff with 500k health for 18k xp in the outside works that hits like a baby.

I leveled my 10-box as follow doing ONLY quests, as painful as it was.

Jade Forest -> Most of Valley of the 4 Winds -> Krasarang Forest -> back to Valley to Finish it off --> Kun-Lai --> Townlong Steppes --> Dread Wastes

At no point did I run into a situation where I couldn't move forward because I ran out of quests. In fact, I'm not even done with Dread Wastes yet and already hit 90.

If you want to grind out some levels, I suggest going to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. From there, go to the Ruins of Guo-Lai. You will find a set of stairs where 6 Elite mobs are CONTINOUSLY flowing down.

They hit like a truck, but a 10-box should be fine. They give about 12k XP per kill in a 5-man group and drop decent loot.

I did all of the zones leading up to KunLai and I'm only 87.5(and done with Kun Lai). If I were to grind it would be the yetis in Kun Lai since they are worth 16k fit a group of 5 and 60k solo. (one of my pet peeves with WoW and grouping) if I had done this solo and getting almost 4x XP per kill, this wouldn't be an issue. Or better yet, let me move on to the next zone even if I haven't meet the recommended level.

You can get a two hour xp/rep buff during the Halloween event too. It's not much, but it will add an extra kill's worth of xp every 10 mobs.

Each of my toons has 5k+ gold at 88. Questing is quite profitable.

I hit 90 and still had most of summit to quest in..did you start the the quest that leads to opening the gate so you can get in the faction city zone? ( not sure what that quest is called.. you can start it at 87 as far as i know )

Uh I'm not sure. Did that start in Vale of the Eternal Blossoms? I already did part of it, but at 87 it only lets you go so far. Also to those that think I wasn't questing. I did every quest I could find with the exception of the ridiculous ones and that was only a few. I seem to remember clicking on something that would take forever to respawn and each character had to do it. I'm actually shocked at the amount of quests that DONT give group credit. Some are real WTFs.

edit: after this group I will be using RDF and just grinding to 90. Fuck collection quests x 10.

I thought of a potential difference.

Do you have Battle Standard of Coordination x 10 ?

If so, you REALLY should macro it to your DPS spam on round-robin with a 60-second "Do not go to next step for ..." .

That way, with your 10-box the Banner will be dropped once-per-minute and you'll have almost 100% uptime. That is a free 15% extra XP.

The Banner always works across groups - so it does not matter if group 1 or group 2 drops it.
