Will four Prot spec each do 1500dps, or is that dependent on being hit?

Which is better?:
1x Holy & 4x Prot
1x Holy & 1x Prot & 3x Ret

they did 2k each on the bosses in UK at 71 as prot.. the one being hit ( the lead toon and MT ) was doing about 150-200 more dps

Also i wanted to add that i had most my plate and strength two handers deleted when i was away from the game for awhile and had them in my guild banks mail..forgot to take them out /cry..so these palies are in a mix of str and agility gear lol ( BoA ) Also.. i read someone say that BoA exp bonuses do not stack with RaF.. this is wrong.. it does. I found out the hard way when my healer kept falling behind in exp and i realized i had not given him head or cloak BoAs yet.

It is good to hear that Prot spec is not that dependent upon Vengeance from being hit.

I leveled my Paladins as Holy, through the mid 70's.
They played the same as any other ranged team.

RAF level grants got them the last few levels... since there was no corresponding toon of appropriate level to RAF with.

Prot seems kind of high..or my other toons are low lol.. my main team of paly tank and 4 shaman.. my paly does almost the same dps.. around 22k average. The shaman do way more burst though ( 50-60k )
