    Default Initial PvP gear

It's my understanding that tomorrow is the start of the new season. Along with that start, PvP gear will be for sale. My honor and JPs are capped, but that's basically all I have at level 90.

What would you recommend for gearing up? For example, should I purchase the chest piece first, bracers first, or something else? Should I convert all my JP to honor or would that be better spent on PvE gear for now as a substitute for PvP gear (thereby giving me a good start on both sets)? Any recommendation is welcome! The focus is PvP, but PvE is also of interest, just not as much as PvP.

    Assuming this follows previous expansions.

    a) a Two-Minute PvP trinket
    b) Two pieces of class gear, for the 2-piece bonus
---- If the Glove bonus is at all useful, have the Gloves as one of those two.
    c) Helm piece by the time you have the requisite pieces (socket colors) on other pieces to activate your Meta Gem.
    d) Four piece bonus, by the time you have four pieces.
    e) Anything in any order...

If they release PvP Weapons, those are a high priority for any melee team.

From beta information, which I assume is still correct.

PvP itemization is free, as in PvP Power and PvP Defense do not count against item level budget.
But PvP gear will be a lower iLV, from comparable content.
Meaning, the Honor gear from this season vs the Justice gear from this season...
You'll do higher PvE damage in the Justice gear because it is higher iLV.
But the Honor gear will be a lot closer to the Justice gear than it has ever been in previous stuff.

Also, everyone has a base 30% resilience.
Meaning, even without any PvP gear, you'll be a lot better off than you were in a previous pvp season.
PvP Power increases the damage you deal against a player target, or in effect counteracts the base 30% resiliency.
And PvP Defense will increase this amount by decreasing the damage you take from players.

So PvE gear is better in PvP than it was in the past.
And PvP gear is better in PvE than it was in the past too.
But each type of gear is still the best in its respective aspect of the game.

I think I'll use that barrel instead of the on use pvp trinket this season, assuming its allowed in arena

Extra 100k damage average from that (10k low end, 40k high end with resil)... lulz thats actually a really good catch if its usable in arena.

For a single person it's not really OP so i doubt it will really be nerfed.

Its roughly equivalent of an extra overload lavaburst per shaman if it hits on the high end.

I'll go do that quest line and test it tonight.

Great find with the MOP version of Ring of Blood! My god those fights were boring and the only challenge is avoid finger mashing cramps, but the gear is guaranteed. For those who are going to do it you should know it's a scenario, so don't go looking for it on the map.

If the honor and justice fear will be fairly similar, then I will probably spend HP on PvP and JP on PvE. One of the reasons to convert JP to HP would be to earn honor faster, and therefore be eligible for weapons that much sooner, but I'm kind of burnt out from leveling in BGs and won't be in a massive rush (though it's still the priority).

    Thanks!

Wow - I'm interested to see how long before that barrel gets nerfed

Since weapons aren't available for honor, anyone recommend a good first PvP 2 hander?

The blacksmith one. Assuming you got gold saved up from the long and dry cata periods.

    http://www.wowhead.com/item=82973#created-by-spell

probably starts off at 10k -20k gold i would guess, Mote drop rates are low it seems. People claims 2hrs of farming, and got less than 10.

The free one is from Heroic Shado-Pan (Heroic Shado-pan is hella hard, for first tier pve)

EDIT: actually, my friend pinged me about this MOP version of Ring of blood, bring you 5 free ilvl450 weapons http://www.wowhead.com/quest=31207/t...f-annihilation

my answer gets better and better with each edit of the post

ya everyone should do this for 1st tier weapon. Then save money for the darkmoon card i guess if want focus on PVE. For PVP, i would probably just buy the 463 BS weapons. Got a lot of gold saved up and not much use. I am not into mounts so buying weapons make sense
