Farming spots for cloth/leather/motes?

The HB bots are hard to detect since they are just gathering or using quest profiles. What were were doing was killing mobs almost every second for a long period of time. I was able to get my account bans overturned. Mosg2, I think everything will be fine as well, it just sucks having it happen and to wait. I know this is sort of hijacking the thread, but this happened because we were attempting stuff mentioned in this thread. Here is my communication with Blizzard. Seems they are using some type of automatic ban if the system detects suspicious activity. They recommended not doing what I was doing before or I'll have to go through the same process of review again. What irks me is, this isn't suspicious activity at all. Because we box, we can drop things so fast, so it appears like a damage hack. They are the one spawning the mobs, not some hack tool on our end.

Thank you so much xxxx!! That was quick and I appreciate the help. I do have one question and that is, can I continue doing what I was doing? Just killing the mobs over and over in the MoP areas? If so, will the system know not to flag me or will future GMs know not to place a ban on the accounts again?

So a group going anywhere, to kill mobs in mass for the sole purpose of farming these damn motes, that we need, will get us banned. ( even if it gets overturned, we pay too much for that kind of hassle ) BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a BS answer! So basically if you kill x amount of mobs in x amount of time, you get autobanned.... wow.

Seems like a reasonable solution to their problem, it would only effect a small number of legitimate users such as us, but effect a very large number of farming/leveling bots.

Well that is concerning. I have been leveling a team of 4 the past half week or so. I farmed the Wildhammer Dwarfs in The Hinterlands two nights ago for about 90 min to get the distress beacon for the mechanical chicken quests, but nothing happened afaik. I didn't get MoP yet for those accounts as I wanted to get several groups to 80 first and figured by the time I was ready to go further there would be a holiday sale on Cata/MoP. I'll keep an eye out how this goes in the long term, as lots of collection quests are not something I'm looking forward to in the future. My plan was to grind most of the way from 85+. Especially when you can buy decent gear for gold to get you going instead of having to quest for it.

Flux1, There isn't an issue with farming. It has to do with the way some MoP areas have infinite respawns of mobs. After all or most are dead, the system immediately spawns more. With so many kills over a short time, it is tripping something in blizzard's poorly implemented autoban system. If it would just check to see if all toons are in the same group with the same IP getting the same XP, then it shouldn't flag the accounts. The rep on the phone did say that changes would be required to compensate for what boxers are doing with these spawns, but never said that it would actually occur.

i appreciate what they are doing, but you would think there would be a system in place thats a tad smarter,TheShox said, check your IP etc.. so they don't inconvenience someone by auto-banning them in a case like above.

BUt Back OT.. Im sure some of you knew that when you get revierde you can get http://www.wowhead.com/item=89233.. they give you one mote.. so at exalted you can get 16 per day. per toon.. combine that with killing mobs for them,, and thats a good start. i mean 16 guaranteed motes a day, or 2 spirits every two days, not bad!

The Dwarfs I was farming seemed to be on a similar timer as by the time the last one was dead a few more had respawned. I've read on other forums that lots of packs of mobs have been set to have the instant respawns in old world content like in pandaria. I'd hope they see false positives are impacting legit customers and put in a fix for it like you mentioned. However since this apparently something new people don't know much about, it does concern me knowing there is an invisible limit that can trigger on you.

Well, it took three phone calls and a bunch of back and forth but they overturned the bans on my accounts. I'm still not sure what to do going into the future--My guess is to wait until I hit 90 and am not getting experience from these mobs before going back and/or finding another spot.

Maybe a post on the main forums is in order to get a definitive answer on this topic?

I found an ok spot. in dread wastes..south island called Zan'vess. You get a buff from one of the bug NPCs " Kil'Ruk The Wind-Reaver". Every 60 seconds, when you have at least two mobs on you.. Angels of Death will fly down and do some mad dps to whatever your fighting. If all your guys have this.. its nutz. BTW you can have one enhancement and one augment from these NPCs.. 8)

Anyway, i was questing on the island and was pulling a ton of mobs..i don't think i was getting the "hundreds" of motes some of you were, but it was good steady coin, cloth, motes, greens and these quest shards you can turn in for rep with the bugs. ( When a quest shard drops.. its drops for all in group 8)

The buffs last as long as you are in the zone. There might be a better spot than where I was at, you can do this anywhere in the zone. ( the buffs called Angel of Death btw )
