The nature of random battlegrounds can be pretty bleak sometimes. Many times people will loose the BG because they are going after HK or trying to be top damage etc, rather then playing the map correctly or class or even position relevent to the game at the time. Leaving a node undefended for example.
I will be the first to say i would do this ALOT on my tripple Frost DK's. Going after 1,2 and 3 top damage slots.
I understand there is rated content where you can group up and play the map/class correctly but thats not what i want to discuss. What i would like to know is;
If a 'MVP' was awarded at the end of each BG would this change the attitudes and play style of people doing randoms and as a concequence the nature of BG's?. This could be like a running total achievement, where after so many MVP wins you would be awarded a title etc.
Gaining points ppl could;
Defend the node/flag
Defend the FC (proximity based)
attack the EFC (proximity based)
damage delt
Killing blows
Cap flags (rogues could get bonus for ninja capping eg)
etc
Loosing points ppl could;
Be the last to leave a node undefended
be 'fighting in mid'
be afk
etc
People who want to just go into a random bg and faceroll still can (thats fun too) but people may be more inclined to go after MVP then top damage. Creating a more team environment for each bg.
I would certainly change my goal from being top dps to being MVP.
Maybe even MVP could be an additional point system that runs while you are in a bg. so people can you see how they really did vs others. Personally i dont like this idea i much prefer a single MVP awared at the end of each BG.
what are your thoughts? would this be so hard to implement?
