    Default Hey rly interested

Hey guys, after watching some youtube vids and after my first friendly encounter of a boxer that was nice and helpful on my server. He isnt a member of ur site however he did say it was called multi-boxing and to get into it to just look it up and i ended up here since this site looks to be the most filled with info. I just spent about 7k on my new machine getting ready for Xsis. however being a wow fan ill always play wow and with this i see this as a new way of wow entirly.

    My new mahcine is
2x Evga 8800 GTX stock non oc waiting on a decent cooling block and more $$

    evga 680i sli mb

    fatility xfi sound card

    pc 9136 ddr2 corasair domminartor ram 2gb

    intel qx6700

just a taste acaorse theres more:P

i clock 15.5k on 3dmark06 if everything turned up ntune and stuff but it ran hot so i turned it all down it was only 14k range on 3dmark06 so im pretty sure i can easily run a few copys of wow. How to do i read its like running mulitple copies of Diablo 2 bakc in the old days just u dont need a d2 loader anymore since wow doesnt need a cd. however split the monitors up and also configurings the vid cards ive ben scrolling through the forums i havnt found much on the 8800gtx with the fps and the monitor driver config and ive always been having 1 issue with them with evga and ntune set up so was wondering if anyone else has this set up or near it and already has done something like this? Should i even be using NTune? I heard someone else was using something diferent when using mulitple set up for milti monitor on these vid cards...

Also keyboard config? Do u gets use things like Xkeys, or switches or something how do u manage to control 5 toons off 1 keyboard and mouse? i can see casting with something like Xkeys causeu can use multi layering with that right? however what about moving around do u use like a follow assist macro command kinda deal?

It is possible to run multiple WoWs with 8800GTXes but I don't and have never intended to - so my research on that is somewhat limited as to where exactly it caps out at.

I don't understand why you didn't just buy parts for four separate machines? I just spent 1700$, and that was only for 3 very capable WoW machines.

If it's a new computer you will use as your main, I can understand...and if you have the money. I love computers too but would never think of spending that much on one machine!

(OK, that was a lie. If i had a good job I probably would )

ANYWAYS, the point I'm trying to make is...like Xzin said, I'm sure you can run them all on that PC but it may get kind of messy. Messy in the sense that Playing 5 WoW's on one machine is hectic as anyone could imagine.....

But hell, if you had some extra cash you could throw some down for a few extra cheaper(yet still powerful) machines.

Probably something like this.... only with 1 less card.

Which is what I run to power the 6x 30" displays and Xzin.

Two pci-e cards and one AGP? :? MB looks like a striker.

    3x PCI-E, 2 x16 and 1 x8. The 8 lanes slows it down a BIT but not by much.

Ohyea, just checked Newegg . So how does that work out? The two on each side SLIed and connected to one monitor or 2 and the one in the middle with its own, or do all 3 work together? I'm in highschool and getting a job in about 2 weeks and all my money is going into a $3k custom guitar and $7k computer setup. Should take 2-3 months of working, and if I get a certain job with a relative I can make $5k a month for a few days work/month. So yea.. if those 3 cards work well together then I might just get one or two of those instead of multiple PC's. I don't really want heat etc. from all those PC's. I rather just waterchill cool the cards and CPU.

That is only for 1 box though.... heh I don't know how well or how many boxes it would run. SLI is broken via driver support not being there if you have all 6 ports in use.

You don't need a 7k computer to run wow $4k is more than enough to 5 box VERY well with multiple machines.

Yea.. but the problem is that I'm dropping WoW the second WAR comes out and want to 5 box it, but I really just want to prepare the hardware now instead of upgrading, because i'll be in college when it comes out and don't have time to work. (I want to keep a 4.0) BTW, why is the middle SLIED with the one on the left? The two sides are x16 and the middles x8.

So I wanted one computer, so I can 5 box WoW on it, and maybe continue 5 boxing WAR on it, or atleast run a few copies of WAR, or even one on maximum settings with no lag... WAR just seems like my dream game, LOL. Something I would drink energy drinks for my first time to play it 24/7 and cancel my cellphone and lock my doors and pull out the telephone cord.
