    Default Experiences with 3-boxing?

I was just wondering peoples experiences with 3-boxing. Pros and cons etc. I realize i wouldn't be able to 5 man myself, but was thinking when MoP launches with all the new spells being added that 3 manning might be easier and more enjoyable in PVP (at least for me) than 5-boxing. Any thoughts on the subjest would be appreciated I was probably going to start with 3 pallies.

    Thank you

The new Scenarios in MoP are 3-man only.

I used to three box when i first started (three shaman) , its was good for lvling in the random instance ques because i could focus just on DPS'ing and nothing else. Since then ive only got one more account, so i have 4 shaman and now i can que one as heals + 3 dps for instances and a friend tanks . Id like a 5th account but im not sure if i want to lvl another toon yet.

4 Lava Bursts are better than 3 in pvp, 5 would be better, but just play with what you want. I know a few people that 3 box and they hold there own in a bg very well.

Have fun and good luck on your new team.

the scenarios at launch are going to be 3 man only later they said they would like to put in some big once that take 25 people.

buffed: Let's talk about scenarios. I think the original announcement was that scenarios would be designed for up to 25 players. But all current scenarios are three player ones. Will we see scenarios for larger groups in the future or are scenarios always going to be three player content?
Street: We still like the idea of having some scenarios that are much larger. It just worked out that the ones we developed for launch all felt like they would make more sense for three players. If we did larger ones we'd want them to be much more epic -- maybe larger maps, maybe letting the group split up into smaller parties.

That's good to know, but by 3-boxing he can do all the scenarios with just his one group rather than having to split up into a 3-man and a 2-man (e.g. 5-boxing).

    3-man cons:
    * you rely on 2 others for any 5-man content
    * less impact on small BGs
    * for anything outside of 5-man instances, you can't marshal the same coordinated power as 5+ boxers do
    * may not be able to stack buffs as neatly as when controlling all 5 in your group (less effective skill/buff/debuff synergy)
    * less versatile as you can't make sure you cover as many gaps (e.g.: resist coverage, CC types, etc.)

    3-man pros:
    * you rely on 2 others for any 5-man content
    * less impact on small BGs
    * only have to loot 3x
    * less complex macro/skill setup

That's the easy stuff. I'm sure there are other details folks will add.

If you PvP its alot easier to be ganked with 3 than 5. I ran a warlock and 2 shadow priests a few years back on a pvp server and any decent rogue would have me sapped and down to 2 before I even knew he was there, then just pop evade and do it all over again. Made it real hard to level, and with the fact that you can fly just about anywhere its gonna be more of an issue now than before.

3 boxing you basically are limited to doing 3's yourself, or playing with friends.

You can be successful in 3's by yourself but it takes a lot of time and effort to get everything setup correctly. I disagree with ughmaheadhurts it is more complex to do REALLY well with opposed to 4-5 boxing 5's.

Ultimately it just comes down to if you want social interaction or not. I do that with 4 toons though because I either dual box or single box 3's on all my toons as well as doing 5's as a 4 box group.
