That is very impressive Nitro. Gives me some ideas.

What do you do about dust accumulation and climate control? I find that my garage is far dirtier, dustier, humid, and hot/cold than any space in my home, even my basement storage room. I've thought about a pass-through between my desk and the storage room (they also share a wall), but I have concerns about the longevity of components and fans in that environment. I couldn't imagine the torture that 100+ degree summer days and -15 degree winter nights would put on my system.

These are the kinds of things that slapped my brain as well. I would dedicate a regular room for this sort of thing - one that I could more easily control those environmental factors.

We have 3 cats in the house so I was getting alot of cat hair in the machines; the garage has got to be cleaner than that

If dust ever did become an issue I could just install some filters in my cabinet doors.

I live in the Seattle, WA area so wild heat fluctuations are not an issue for me.

Heh, and you don't have all the dust in the air like we do here in Texas. I doubt I could do that without having some sort of filtration system. Not to mention that my garage gets up to 110F+ during the summer.

We have the same issue in Central IL. That and it gets so humid in my garage that my floors get slick with condensation.

I have a basement here in KS and that's going to be a project for me as well. It'll fit right in the utility room just fine. All I really need is some extra soundproofing

For anyone contemplating a similar venture: It would be worth upgrading to HDMI for something like this. HDMI can handle longer runs and eliminate the need for audio runs along the same distance/path.

Damn, good idea. I've looked into VGA over CAT5, wireless VGA, super long DVI cables etc... I never thought of HDMI. I wonder if the video cards are supporting higher than 1920 resolution with HDMI now.
