This sounded odd to me, so I did some digging. Sorry to throw this in the middle of a technical thread, but I figured it would be better to set the record straight (at least somewhat)

Microsoft says:
If you don’t activate Windows within 30 days after installation, you will not be able to use every feature of Windows. You can regain full use of your computer by activatingWindows.
If you don't activate windows, it will put itself into a "Reduced Functionality mode"

This is for Vista, but everything I can find points to 7 being the same: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925582 Scroll to "Activities that are not available in reduced functionality mode"

With that being said, I'd say that Reduced Functionality Mode wouldn't limit any specific 64 bit features.
