    Not sure about the 16GB becoming 8GB issue. you use Windows 7 Ultimate right ? and what MB you are using ?

    5.0.4 framerate slow down is most likely add-on related (at least for me). Try disable all addons, including jamba, only leaves ISBOXer addon and see if that helps. 5.0.4 needs the new jamba (beta 3 i believe).

    edit: found a forum link on tomshardware talking about this problem. No definitive answers, but there are a couple suggestions in there might be worth trying, one is changing msconfig, the other is remount CPU fan (????) http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/265341-30-windows
