Ele Sham Macros and sey up?

I have been toying around with my shams.. they just turned 89 and Coren wiped my ass. Im sure i am not optimized. Khats Ele sham portion of her thread is empty. What have some of you come up with?

Mine have been 90 for a while and I am on the fence on the two step set up. I really want to get elemental blast in there. The dps feels low, and the macro often hangs now, when before it did not. Lightning bolt feels like it takes a snails age now to cast. I too would love to hear from any one having success atm with their elemental shaman

Well I still don't use macro's besides lvb/lb but if I were to make one I would still advice you cast flame shock and searing totem manually, if you want a macro for that you can do at the pull

/castsequence reset=5 flame shock, searing totem
you can include a modifier for fire ele totem if you want

as a 2step macro

step 1
/castsequence lightning bolt,lightning bolt,lightning bolt,lightning bolt,lightning bolt,lightning bolt,lightning bolt,earth shock
/cast elemental blast

step 2
/cast lava burst

this way lava burst and elemental blast are always cast when they are available, casting earth shock at 6 or 7 stacks is way less important this expansion than in cataclysm

1) You want to get as much out of ascendance as possible, thus engineering gloves orc racial trinkets are a must to pop. Its a good idea to pop fire elemetal during ascendance as well, they have no interaction but since mop your fire ele no longer takes a snapshot of your stats, but it scales all the time up and down with your stats (not mastery).

2) Echo of the elements is in theory better than elemental mastery, but ele mastery is way more practical for me since it's up before every boss. The more gear you'll have (and thus the more haste), the more echoes will pull ahead in value. If bloodlust was on a shorter cd, or if I was troll I'd spec into echoes. For now I run with EM and prime elementalist since it means I can use it on every boss. I'm not shitting you, most heroic bosses die within 1 ascendance with my team.

3) If you use elemental blast, it's a good idea to make sure you cast it before popping ascendancem also make sure you cast 1 lava burst before ascendance, since it resets the cooldown of it, i.e. you'll get an extra lava burst this way.

Summary:

Tank pullls, I pop flame shock and fire elementals.
1 sham pops stormlash and another one ancestral guidance.
1 lava burst from team
then i go to town with this macro while warrior pops skull banner

/cast ascendance
/cast lava burst
/cast Elemental Mastery
/cast Blood Fury(Racial)
/use 10
/use 13
/use Potion of the Jade Serpent

15s later i loot corpse unless boss has a 2nd phase

Edit: there is a 'trick' that is not really intended I guess that I make use off as well. The T13 (cata) resto gear bonus is 30% haste during spirit walkers grace. 3 of my 4 shamans have it. They have that gear equipped, i pop spirit walkers grace, swap back to their normal gear set with a macro and pull boss. 15s extra 30% haste (20s) if you glyph it.

depends a bit on the situation, there is this one boss where you are slowed as hell, there I use for example ghost wolf glyph
my standard glyphs are chain lightning, unleashed lightning and flame shock
and i replace chain lightning with fire ele when I know that 2 bosses (or trashpacks for that matter which are sometimes harder than bosses) are really one after another
also ran a while with telluric currents since chain lightning on 2 targets is a mana drain, but with improved damage I no longer really need that

considered healing stream totem, and while it's nice it doesn't really add a lot to my team, not at the cost of having to give up dmg/utility

So I tried following Icy Veins elemental rotation and I guess I did something wrong.
Used a priority system sending 1-4.
1 Elemental Blast
2. /castsequence reset=target/25 Flame Shock
3. Lava Burst
4. /castsequence reset=combat/8 Lightning Bolt,Lightning Bolt,Lightning Bolt,Lightning Bolt,Lightning Bolt,Lightning Bolt,Lightning Bolt,Earth Shock,Lightning Bolt,Lightning Bolt,Lightning Bolt

It hangs badly, doesn't cast flame shock at all. casts lava burst and elemental blast on cd. doesn't cast lightning bolt at all.
Can anyone point me to what I'm doing wrong?

This actually works, just needed to change the correct key map
The only thing that still isn't working as it should is the flame shock castsequence. It refreshes a lot more than it should (don't think I've ever seen it go below 20sec left) which causes dps loss + some rotation hangs when earth shock is still on CD caused by flame shock.

Well, it's not a sequence. It also looks like whoever wrote it thinks reset times are lockout times. They aren't, they are idle times, and with the way we play, it's never going to hit an idle of 25s. And even if resets did work that way, it'd still be irrelevant since castsequences automatically start over once they reach the end of the sequence, and since there's only one spell it's always "starting over". So basically, it may just as well just be "/cast Flame Shock" as it is now.

Lava Burst should have a higher priority than elemental blast, it's something that icy vein has wrong.
