I beleive you are mistaken on your last statement. It has been proven (thousands of times) that raid 0 is nearly 2x as fast as a single drive, It nearly doubles the I/O of your disks, back in the day (several years ago) raid 0 was somewhat avoided due to unreliablity. that is pretty much a thing of the past, i've been running the same array of 3 ssd's in raid 0 for over a year and no issues at all
Seconded. It really is about twice as fast as single SSDs. I'd keep a standard HDD in the system as a backup drive for the RAID but other than that, WELL worth it IMO. Plus, putting both in RAID 0 means your OS and your game(s) both benefit all the time.
