Minimum gear for HM Flaspoints?

Hey all!

Ive been trying to do some HM FPs with my new 50 team (VG, Commando, Gunslinger, Sage). I have either Recruit gear or purple (51) and one main hand purple (52) gear.

I can't beat Ironfist on Esseles or the droid boss on Taral V at all and I was under the impression that these were the easiest ones.

For those of you with experience, what gear did you have when you cleared your first HM FP and what FP was it?

I'd suggest you scrap the recruit gear. As far as I know it is going to be absolutely 100% garbage for PvE. Look for cheap level 50 prototype purples, I sold a bunch when I moved my marauders over, they sold at market price for between about 13 and 45k per. You should be able to get some decent gear like that. Next, depending on how much cash you have, look on the AH for crafted 25 or 26 purple mods/enhancements/armor plates.

In terms of gearing I would probably prioritize like this.

1) VG
2) Slinger

Putting resources into those two characters will get you your biggest bang for your buck return. The tank with some rakata or higher tier armor plates off the GTN will in turn make your healer more efficient and pimping your gunslinger out will help you kill stuff before the enrage timer.

You may even want to solo queue your tank and slinger a bit to get starter gear!

Thanks for the advice Merc! I was also thinking of joining the solo que as well just so I can get some drops. I'm probably going to work on dailies until I have enough for the Rakata relics and implants. I'm also going to get my biochem up to 400 so I can use the Rakata medpacks.

I was just hoping that there was an easier HM to farm so that I could do the other HMs.

Things might have changed since I played. I quit after the first month but when I hit 50, it took about 4-5 days doing the heroic dailies on Belsalvis and Illum to max out all my gear, You get weapons, every piece of major armor and tokens for all the mods. HM offered no upgrades at that point other than the crafting rare from the final boss. I used those to build the implants, saber and shield generator. Then I switched to Bio and built my rakata medpacks. At the time, the only thing better were some of the raid stuff, but it wasn't worth the time investment for a chance drop of something that added only a point or two to each stat.

The Recruit gear is actually equivalent to the gear from the dailies. You actually need 23 or higher purples to beat it. I'm going to see what is selling on the AH and see if I can gear up a little better. Also, I need to work on my setup and incorporate some of my DPS abilities better. We'll see. I'm going to try Taral V again tonight

Edit: I FINALLY CLEARED TARAL V!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On the first try I managed to get through Taral V and now I've got the columi gloves on my sage!!!!
