Thread: Crafting in MoP

    Default Crafting in MoP

So, just thinking ahead here. At first these new BoP SoHs seemed to be a sucky addition for those of us with armies of crafters, but if they ever make them BoA ( as the above post hints at ,) than having multi-tradskills will eventually be doable. But for the time being, you will have to go out and farm mats on each crafter you have and that will suck! What Ya'll think?

I think it will actually be good for us in a way. We tend to at least play more of our characters than most other people, so we will have more crafters with access to materials in the same amount of time than single-boxers will, and thus easier access to making money selling things on the AH, likely higher prices for crafted things because it's harder to get mats in general, and so on.

At worst it would be about like it is now for us, and worse for single-boxers, so we still come out relatively ahead much moreso than we would if they were non-binding or BoA.

Yea farming for mates will be easier for us for sure, but if or until they make them BoA you wont be able to farm for your low lvl alts that have maxed tradeskills.. they have to go get the stuff themselves.. But yea.. items should sell for more this way, luckily i have all the tradeskills on my main team.

Yeah, all of my main characters have maxed professions, and the only characters who won't be at the level cap and also have a profession are alchemists. But it looks like you can buy an extra transmute with the harmony, so that isn't a worry as I have 3 alchies who will be active.

Blizzard do not want their crafters to be sitting in home cities crafting without being active - and i like it

Except that there are a lot of people whos sole enjoyment of MMOs is being able to sit around in cites and craft and play the AH.. They are not helping anyone with this change, they are, in fact, alienating some. Also, many players LOVE having crafting alts.. its a whole other mini game for them. They might raid with a main and farm mats with the main, but send mats to their alts. This expansion is all about "play the game how you want" Well this puts limits on that for some.

I see the good intent in it, but its not a great decision all around IMO. Like Kate said, this does not effect us boxers as much as it would a single account player. We can lvl up a few teams of 5 or more and go mass kill stuff for mats, solo players can not do that as easy. ( im talking about the new mats of course, Anyone can go farm low lvl mats )

I just hope they make them BoA sooner rather than later, that will help those who enjoy having crafting alts, but not the time to farm on every single alt.

Honestly, what Blizzard should do is create a facebook game ala Farmville (I know they're putting in the Tillers, but this would be on steroids) and let people who just want to gather and craft use that kind of set-up to level up crafting skills. Make it an entirely different type of WoW account, charge something like, I dunno, 5-10 bucks a month, and let people just be totally peaceful crafter/farmers without ever having to have a real character in the game. Let them put stuff on the AH for a given server for gold they could then use to improve their farm more, and there you go.

They would get a TON of new players for WoW who love mindless games like Farmville, and people who wanted to play the normal way could still do that. I have several friends who would totally do it but who won't touch an MMO with a 20 meter pole.

I don't really see how it's any different than any other expansion where you needed primal nether/frozen orbs/chaos orbs/whatever that only drops in instances from bosses and is BoP at the start. Except Spirits are dropped off anything in Pandaria, they aren't restricted to dungeon bosses.

Drop your alt in a group and find a nice grind spot to stock them up. Or offer that service to other people's alts for a nice profit. This is an option we didn't really have with Orbs, so it makes me pretty happy.

this is so much better i could not get my engi items on my warlocks because i could not do hc's the last boss and trying to LFG it was just getting me kicked with a good 20m que and even then i prob lose the roll i love this change so much better.

You get them from dayey quests drops you can get them from hc's if thats all your running and u can get them from raids so there nothing you can not get them from but pvp.

I love that I don´t have the competition of af army of low lv. and that everything is going to be BOE and not BOP
