    Default Solid 4 box team?

So I read all the posts, but I haven't played SWTOR past level 15ish before. So of course I started a 4 box team.

I believe the server "Prophecy of the Five" is where some boxers have ended up, like Merc and Pino. And now me, so hopefully we get future boxers on that server.

Anyway, to my question. I started a 4 man team, of 1 Jug, 2 Marauders, 1 Sorc, since I saw Merc used that team. But then I rolled on the wrong server, so I started a new team.

It's 3 Powertechs and 1 Merc healer. One of the powertech's is tank, the other two are DPS. The merc is supposed to be heals. They are around level 18 now.

Is this a viable team? Or will this be a nightmare trying to do end-game content and maybe some PvP. I'm not quite sure why I started this group, I think I read Powertechs were OP so I just went with it.

I actually had a lot of trouble with the jug, sorc, marauders when I leveled up to 15. The Bounty Hunters seemed to be quite a bit easier. But that's just to level 15.

So any suggestions on a relatively easy team to box at 50? I might try the Assassin and 3 operatives like merc has if the Bounty Hunters are not a good move.

As far as PVE is concerned, the PT/Vanguard is probably the easiest tank to box with. Grapple and charge makes things so easy to position. Juggs/Guardians are good but as you get later in levels, their rotations get more complicated. Assassins are good for stealth team but their lack of movement makes closing targets difficult.

The only healer class I didn't like boxing with is Op and Scoundrels. Their mechanics are extremely involved and takes up alot of your focus. Basically, you need to keep up 2 stacks of hots, channeled hot to get back energy and 2 keep an eye on tactical advantage for certain heals to maximize healing. It's just way too involved if you are fighting a boss that lays down fire on the ground.

Personally, I found the PT/ 3 sorcerers or Vanguard / 3 sages by far the easiest to box with in PVE. You get 3 cc's, 3 bubbles, 2 back up healers, sprint on the sages. The only downside to that team is that the clothies are really squishy, but you get bubble and heals to counter that.

I have a Guardian and 3 Commando team that is mid 30'ish that I like a lot too.

My Guardian+ sorcs seemed very easy to play, once you learn how to use their strengths, and make use of repeater/video feeds/click bars for healing. If i ever go back, I will finish them. Look forward to doing and all BH team as well someday.

That's the group I use for my 50 dailies and heroic content mode content. As far as game play, I think Vanguard/PT is easier though because their rotation lines up with the dps better, especially if you are using balance/madness specs. But I like the look of Sith Warrior as a tank.

    My teams for purpose

    PvE,
    Tank - Sith Assassin Spec
    Healer - Sith Sorcerer Spec
    DPS - Sith Sorcerer Spec
    DPS - Sith Sorcerer Spec

    PvP 4 box
    4x Merc BH

    PvP 2 Box
    2x Sith Sorcerer Spec

All these specs have made it pretty easy for me so far.

losschris, how are rated wz's with a 4 man team? Do you even do them? If yes, do people welcome you or what is the situation?

Right now I am looking at running 3 VG's + Healer or Marauders + healer with maybe a jugg in a marauder slot.

it is kinda of a sticky mess sometimes Merc, like today I was yelled at etc. Alot of times I will run with guildies, or friends. It is way easier to Box reg WZ then rated imo. I might not keep doing it in the future. I will say this though some issues come up sometimes with assist, so you might be better off using closest target also for combat.

I'm sorting sticking with my all BH team for now. 3 PTs and 1 mercenary. I'm really worried about CC though. I'm getting close to 40ish. But CC has me really worried, I gotta say. I'm not sure if that's required at 50 - I just have that 1 CC from the mercenary, and that's my heals as well.

Will my lack of CC make it a lot more difficult to do the dalies at 50?

The only one I can see you having an issue with is the Black Hole Daily, Chasing the Shadows. There is often 3 or 4 elites + 3 regular mob/2 strong mobs. But the others shouldn't be too much of a problem.
