    Default nvidia gtx560 crashing?

hey guys bought a new puter a few weeks ago http://www.computeralliance.com.au/s...qrySystemID=75
im running 3 toons on this pc and 2 on my old box.

today it started crashing alot, it goes black for a few seconds then it comes back and i get a popup saying the video card has recovered. so im assuming its the video card that is having the problem.
after searching the nets for a bit it looks like i need to restore to an old driver somehow.

has anyone else had this problem? is there something im overlooking here? ( i have hit update driver, none available)

I had this happen for about 3 months with my GTX580. It just started one day. It would happen a lot more with WoW than any other game. I might be running just fine for an hour or three or I might be running for 10 minutes. But once it did it the first time it was sure to do it again.. and again...

I had used beta drivers, I had used older drivers, I had reinstalled Windows, I had done just about everything you could imagine...

... then I did a BIOS update for my motherboard. Fixed it! It has happened once or twice in the last couple of months, but not like it used to.

Might also want to try this:

Also, if anyone is getting black screens randomly with their 4xx/5xx nVidia cards I would suggest to download MSI Afterburner (it's not only for MSI cards), unlock the voltage tweaking option, and kick the stock voltage on your card up a notch or two and see if that fixes the problem. This is usually only necessary for people who are really pushing their cards whether you're playing solo or multiboxing. I was getting black screens and random reboots myself when I was using SLI playing solo but a small nudge in voltage (from 1.013 to 1.025) fixed everything. If you do happen to increase your voltage or change clock settings then make sure to check "apply at start up" or else you'll have to manually activate profiles or move sliders each time you reboot.

EDIT: One more thing to mention is that if you're using an eVGA 5xx card they offer BIOS/firmware upgrades for their video cards

OH MY GOD! Talk about an infuriating coincidence, as of late last night this problem has returned. After running almost flawlessly over the last couple of months it's back.

ISNARN, what brand are you are using? I'm using GIGABYTE.

so changed the voltage as suggested by miRai s link to 1.1v (it was suggested that voltage some where) seems to have fixed it just played for about 4 hours with no dramas. was only playing one toon so i still need to check out boxing

1.1v is pretty high and your card is going to be heating up much more than normal. The more voltage you pump into your chip the hotter it's going to run and the quicker it's going to degrade. When I said "kick the stock voltage on your card up a notch or two" I didn't mean to crank it up near max.

If you need 1.1v to be stable on that stock GTX 560 then the card probably needs to be RMA'd.
