Default Getting close to memory buying time, req. suggestions.

Well my friends, The wife has been bugging me to get her that new fangled Kindle Fire device, that I guess reads books for ya, much like my VCR watches TV, or something like that, I don't know, I rarely watch it, and a book should kill your arms holding it while heading off to sleep. But she did agree with me, If I get her that book thingie for Christmas, I can go ahead and do the memory upgrade on my PC.

Now this is super cool, and super sad at the same time, as I'm still using DDR2 on my MB.

    Specs are as follows...

Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. M4A785-M Rev X.0x

    2.50 gigahertz AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core

1478.58 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
658.48 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space

    4x1gig of DDR2 pc800.

    ------
Anyways, I would love to take it to 16 gig, but will settle for 8 or 12, however, the older DDR2 is priced pretty high right now. Normally, I check out Newegg, amazon, or tigerdirect, but even they are a bit more than I'm willing to pay. If you happen to come across any sales, in the next few months, would you please get back to me on it?

I'd love to keep a budget of around $200-$225 if possible.

    Thanks guys.

The Electric Monk was a labour-saving device, like a dishwasher or a video recorder. Dishwashers washed tedious dishes for you, thus saving you the bother of washing them yourself, video recorders watched tedious television for you, thus saving you the bother of looking at it yourself; Electric Monks believed things for you, thus saving you what was becoming an increasingly onerous task, that of believing all the things the world expected you to believe.
Just thought I'd leave this here.

This is an incredibly helpful website that will help you find the lowest price and watch for trends in prices on computer components. Check it every few days and see what you can pick up.

    Edit:

Here's the list of just DDR2-800 RAM sorted by cost per GB (lowest at the top). This'll show you the best bang for your buck.
