So heres the deal, been away from wow for 2 years, came back about a month and a half ago. I have 2 existing accounts, but my computer sucks so can only run 1 at a time. I've just ordered a new intel i7 with 8g ram, 2 1g geforce video cards (not the best ones, but figured 2 lesser cards were my best options financially instead of buying 1 2g card for 5 times the price) and 1 500g hard drive at 7200 rpm data speed. I was wondering if i should upgrade to 16g ram, and think about getting a ss hard drive or a WD raptor to run the clients on, or possibly even 2 so that I can 5 box? Also what software should I use? I used to use keyclone to 3 box, and also did a few weeks of 5 boxing, but it looks like thats no longer supported.

Also was wondering if i RAF 3 new accounts, if this would be a good way to do it:
So with my 2 current accts being acct A and acct D, and the new ones being b, c and e, my chains will be
A>B>C, D>E
acct A (with an 85 dk to boost) I definitely plan on keeping. I'd like to keep acct d, but I suppose I could just swap the one 85 I have there to acct A, and go with 4 daisy chained new accts. My 85 shammy on acct d is my current money maker, while my acct A is filled with to many high level characters for me to be willing to drop. Everything is currently on alliance side PVE server stormrage, although i do plan on making new groups on a different server for horde, time permitting during my RAF. So with that being said should i go 4 new accts, or just 3? Moneys not a huge issue, so i should probably just bite the bullet and go with 4 new accts right?

8GB of ram is plenty for 5-boxing or less.

I'd keep the video cards as non SLI/Crossfire.

An SSD for the gaming folder is nice.
It will speed up your play, any time things are loading.
Such as entering the world, or zoning on a Zeppelin/Boat, or in general in a city as others are constantly moving into range and you're loading their textures for armor/weapons.
An SSD won't help you that much once inside a 5-man instance, as there won't be a lot of loading going on.




You have two existing accounts... A and B.
You can either use both, or just one of them.
If you use both, set up two RAF chains where your best "booster" in on A.
A > C > D
B > E
You will use A to boost new toons on BCDE.

Alternatively, use just one of the accounts.
Whichever has your best booster will be "A".
And go with two chains:
A > B > C
A > D > E
This is good, if you're starting on a new server and have transferred one toon there.
Or its good if you're starting to box from scratch, in which case you'd level five toons initially with the "A" toon being a good booster for later teams.

If the extra $$$ to buy another account is not that big of a deal, I'd go with the second method.
It will make starting on a new server or faction (or both), much easier...
Plus you can transfer toons from the existing account that you're not boosting/RAFing with... they're not automatically discarded.

While using two cards with only 1GB of video RAM you've got 3 choices:

1) Run all 5 off of one card using DX11 and shitty settings
2) Run all 5 off of one card using DX9 and mediocre settings
3) Split the load between both cards and be forced into using DX9 for the second monitor

So with that being said should i go 4 new accts, or just 3? Moneys not a huge issue, so i should probably just bite the bullet and go with 4 new accts right?
