Makes doing this of lesser value, but still it's a chest!
basically rendering MF useless for the mobs that matter. for Inf mode, you need topnotch stats to beat elite packs and bosses.. so you don't have much room for MF on your gear. Its main usefulness has always been for all those items listed that i wont work for now.

Well the current method is kind of clunky, most high end players from what I've read and seen in videos will swap out their gear for MF gear right before killing the mob. Which then counts as wearing all of the gear in the first place. So do 99% damage run away a bit, swap gear - boom profit.

Me personally, with 4 characters is not going to bother that route.

Chests are an easy way to get a full group worth of drops and you can just maximize cheap magic find gear.

I too just run around in Magic Find gear stacking up the nephalim buff and get plenty of blues and yellows falling out of champions, regular chests and just normal mob drops.

    I haven't played D3.

That said, when I look at the screenshots above, I actually had to do a double take because that looks like Guild Wars to me.

Using the screenshots in this thread, you could easily confuse D3 and GW...

Are you sure swapping your magic find gear right before the boss dies will work? In WoW all the loot tables are calculated when the dungeon is first entered.

Yes, it works. Loot drops are calculated on the Kill. I am disappointed with Magic Find no longer working on chests, bodies and breakable barrels. That combined with repair costs has made me much more reliant on having crappy loot that normally gets vendored or disenchanted sell on the AH.
