Default How long to level up your guild?

Anyone with their own guild, that's just for their own boxing teams, who has made it to level 25 yet?

It seems like I box alot, and have alot of toons at level 85, but my guild is only level 10, almost level 11. Its just taking too long to level it.

Why don't you advertise and get lots of new people into your guild, give everyone permission to invite their friends, allow a guild tab or 2, make a few officers to run events, and sack the lot of them when you get to 25?

I was thinking of doing this but just dont play enough...

Or you can buy an already leveled guild and boot everyone if you've got the gold to throw away.

I currently have my own guild which i created about a month and a half ago, and it is level 14. looking through the activity contribution it's basically me holding 4/5 of the top spots by a mile, along with my friend i do 5s with, followed by a few random people i got in, and then another set of 4 characters i leveled to 85 just last week. Typically unless your planning on running guild events (raiding rbgs ect) your only going to target lower levels to join your guild, but having low levels doesn't level a guild, as the stuff they do doesn't contribute much to the cap every day, and odds are you wont be able to recruit enough low levels to make up that difference. Honestly for me I try to at least get the cap to 50% every day no matter what. The best ways to do this is probably through arena, normally ill just play games with myself and it doesn't take more than an hour to get at least 50% done. Dungeons are a good alternative as well and definitely worth doing at least 7 each week. As a last resort, i have seen people on my server hiring people to get the cap on their guild (some on a daily basis and some on weekly), which honestly if you have the money, but not the time it isn't a bad way to level it.

This thread http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/1965575069 on the forums has a good summary although some of the numbers may be a bit off. (% of cap is still using the pre 4.2 cap level, first post revised March 2012 though)

    Short version
    Arena: 694,000 guild xp per 5v5 arena win (138,800 per player, 416,400 for 3v3, 277,600 for 2v2)
Dungeon: 232,500 per heroic boss with 5 (nonheroics and lower expansions award less).
Raid: 78,700 per boss per person (needs 8+ of 10)
Quests: 15k+ per character per quest

Guild Challenges don't count against the cap, so that allows earning more than the 7.8 million/day cap

With three heroic bosses roughly equalling one arena win, arenas are likely faster than dungeons.

Can you do 8 quests (per character) faster than an arena win? 8 quests at 17,700 guild xp = 138,800 per character = 1 arena win per character.

I pm'd Igg a while back about this, he said he did dailies and heroic dungeons, and got his guild to 25 in a few months.

It's a rather painful grind though.

I've been spending time in stormwind trying to hire a recruiter to help level my guild, no such luck. Been offering 2k gold per level and 10k gold bonus once level 25. Either thats just not enough gold to people or guild recruiting sucks, probably a bit of both.

Been working on my guild for some months now. Would probably have reached 25 by now, but Diablo caused "some" downtime :p

Anyways, I do my grinding on the first two bosses of normal Lost City (General Husam and the croc), which take a little less than three minutes total for me.
Normal 85 bosses give 31000 exp per char, so that's 2x5x31000=310000 per run.
To reach the daily cap, it takes 7807500/310000=25,5 runs, or about 75 minutes time (for me).

That's a bit over 100k/min. Comparing to 5v5 arena, unless the queue time + match takes less than 7 minutes total (last time I did 5v5 the queue alone was nearly 10 minutes), what I'm doing might actually be a bit faster - or at least more reliable. Losing just one match would cost you several minutes, so unless you're some PvP god who ALWAYS wins, I think there's no competition as to which is faster :p
