    Default broadcasting question...

Hi, I'm still trying to figure my way through setting this up. I've gotten further than I have before, but before I start messing things up, because I've gotten it to where I can use it.

What Ive got so far with the broadcasting everything. I haven't used the wizard to set up yet, but so far everything broadcasts so I've been happy so far. Where I'm starting to run into a problem is the movement of all the toons with the mouse movement. If I'm understanding the wizard set up, when I use it to create a key map....only those keys I place in there will broadcast?

I kind of like to use the mouse to click my hot bars and having them broadcast to all the slaves, but I'm thinking I'm going to have to give that up? Mouse moving the tank, moves the slaves too and slaves moving aint casting

    Hope that made sense.

It sounds like you want to click buttons on all toons (or some toons) but you don't want it to move them via click-to-move when normally using the mouse to control your main. If that's the case, it sounds like repeater regions or click bars will both accomplish what you're after. Personally, I've had better luck with repeater regions than click bars but you'll have to experiment a bit to see which one does what you want.

    Hope that helps.

First thing you should get used to as a multiboxer is using hotkeys instead of clicking to cast. It's faster, more accurate and more efficient. Broadcasting your mouse for everything is, as you see, a hot mess.

Go through and use the Wizard. Otherwise you're going to end up with all sorts of custom stuff that only makes it harder for troubleshooting. If you absolutely must click to cast, you can set up click bars or better yet, scale down the amount of things you click and toggle mouse broadcasting for a handful of things as you need them.

Ideally the mouse is used for movement of the main character.
And click healing, a Grid/Healbot/Vuhdo frame, assuming you have a healer on the team.
And the odd click based action that is not broadcast to the other toons.

The majority of play is hotkeys and macros which are triggered by your mapped keys.

You will want Broadcasting (sometimes called Repeater/Repeating) to be off, by default.
    And Keymaps to be on.
That is 99% of your play set up.

Make a mapped key for anything you want broadcast.
I believe Alt F or maybe Ctrl F, is Follow by default (I don't have default hotkeys for almost anything really).
You can find the default stuff here: http://isboxer.com/wiki/WoW:Quick_Start_Guide

    With mapped keys enabled...
When you press the key: 1.
Everyone first assists the main character, so they're on her target.
Everyone then receives the "1" key, in game.
Which triggers whatever is on that key.
If you put Lightning Bolt for every toon, then they'll all cast Lightning Bolt at the main's target.
If you want to cast something at your focus, you can have a macro that targets the focus on that key.
In general, you'd have either a spell or a castsequence macro on a given keybind.

You can get creative with your mapped keys.
You can target the Current Window (active toon), the other windows (All without Current), or a specific slot.
You can target a predefined group (Action Target Group, aka ATG), which can have any number of toons in it, example both Elemental Shaman, in a group with Paladin Tank, 2x Elemental Shaman, 1x Warlock, 1x Priest...
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

I'd also strongly advise you to use the Quick Setup Wizard and to follow the WoW Quick Start Guide. That will give you a basic set of keys and functionality. Some parts of the FAQ will also be helpful, particularly the section onWhy do my toons move in different directions? as you will likely run into this problem if you use Repeater and broadcast your movement keys.

If you discover that you just can't train yourself to use the keyboard then all is not lost. You can use a Repeater Region to broadcast your clicks only when they are over your Actions Bars. See Common Modifications: Clicking.

You can also create what is called a ClickBar.

This is something, which functions via being clicked, the same as pressing a keybind for the mapped key.
So instead of pressing Alt + F (or whatever you have set, for FTL Follow me > ie., slaves follow the active window)...
You could mouse click on the ClickBar.
Which would execute that mapped key, the same as if you had pressed the hotkey.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

That's alot clearer than what I wrote lol. Anyway, having an easier time setting up ISboxer than my last 2 attempts. Last couple times, it was mouse alignment that was all over the place and basically couldn't use the mouse at all. This time, np.
Anyway, been following the videos of how to set up, it seems easy enough to do, but I wasn't sure of my understanding of them. (I'm worried that once I create a keymap, I can't undo it if I meess it up and once I create it...are the only keys that I put into the wizard, the only keys that will pass or operate at all?)

I can do without the mouse clicking anyway, just before whn I was multiboxing WoW, was using Keyclone and didn't have to worry about the mouse passing. I could trigger keys on my tank w/o worrying something I didn't want passed to my proest or locks going off. Just a different system with ISboxer. Right now, I'm trying to work my way through EQ w/ a 6 man team...and if I'm understanding how EQ works, I really only get 10 keys to trigger spells at the same time. (Other than if I SHIFT 1-10 for new bars.) So it's not as if it's complex (Unless I'm completly off then I'm due for a surprise Anyway, I'm trying to follow the video on the ISboxer site, some parts are easier than others to follow.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Sorry, I read my OP and it wasn't very coherent
