Default Using Keyclone + ISB Mouseclicking/AE

    Hi all,

I've been boxing for quite a bit and have gotten used to my KC settings. Recently, purchased ISB as well and decided that instead of redoing 25 toons key settings, I'd rather keep my keyclone and use ISB just for the shaman AE/Healing Rain.

Was wondering if I can get some advice from fellow boxers that have tried? I'm not too familiar with ISB and definitely do not want the other more powerful features of ISB yet at this point. Just the ability to pass mouseclicks would do they job for me.

If any assistance or insight can be given, would greatly appreciate it!

    thanks!!

To be completely honest, it's going to be hard to find someone that uses Keyclone in conjunction with ISBoxer. You're still going to have to set up a Character Set, with Characters, a Repeater Profile and at least one Mapped Key in order to launch your team with ISBoxer and use an AOE. Which hopefully means that you're going to run ISBoxer's Quick Setup Wizard. Which means that you're either going to already have "the other more powerful features" or you're going to disable them and manually set up something that's provided for you as an example if you don't disable them

So it's going to go something like this...
    1. Install ISBoxer
    2. Run the Quick Setup Wizard. On the last page of the wizard, keep the default setting to generate Key Maps, you want them for the example AOE mapped key. (this process is demonstrated by the quick setup video)
    3. Export to Inner Space and launch your team via ISBoxer (this process is also demonstrated by the quick setup video)
    4. If you want to use Keyclone you will need to attach it to the game windows that are now up. As someone who has never used Keyclone, I don't know how to do that, but I am told it's possible. You will also need to run Keyclone as Administrator for it to interact with the game that's running as Administrator through Inner Space

    To get the AOE working:
    5. In the top left pane in ISBoxer, under Key Maps, select "FTL DPS Keys"
    6. In the bottom left pane, under Mapped Keys, select "Example targeted AOE"
    7. At the top of the bottom right pane is a Hotkey option. Click the < to set a Hotkey. This is the key you will press in order to activate the AOE and the temporary mouse broadcasting (until you click), and does not have to match or be in any way related to the key that is sent to the game to start casting the spell.
    8. In the bottom left pane, expand "Example targeted AOE" so that under it you see Steps, 1.
    9. Click the 1 under Steps, so that on the right you see Step, Actions
    10. The topmost Action in this Step shows "7 -> all". That means it's going to send "7" to all windows. Assuming that not the key you want, select "7 -> all"
    11. Now to the right you should see a Target box and a Key Combination box. Click the < button under Key Combination to change the key it sends to activate the AOE spell in the game.
    12. Export to Inner Space

Now when you press the Hotkey you configured, it should perform the two Steps in this example AOE mapped key -- it will send 7 (or whatever key you replaced that with) to all windows, and initiate "Next Click -> all other" (the click also goes to the current window, since that Action does not include "Block click from current window")

So... then if you want, you can disable lots of stuff in ISBoxer. I'm not really recommending doing this because you can add your Keyclone configuration to ISBoxer (e.g. by using Many New Mapped Keys, or even the "Import from other software" function available when you right click "Mapped Keys" in the bottom left pane while editing a Key Map)... But, say you left everything default like I suggested, and you want exactly what you stated -- basically nothing in ISBoxer except for this.
Here's how you can disable things:
    13. In the "FTL DPS Keys" key map (select it in the top pane), right click each of the "DPS 1" through "DPS =" mapped keys and select Delete from the menu. (You can also highlight and press the delete key)
    14. In the top pane under Character Sets, select your Character Set
    15. In the bottom left pane, you will want to remove the General and Control Key Maps (leave FTL DPS Keys, so your AOE will work), the Broadcast Click Bar, and the Quick Setup 38 WoW Macro Set. For each of those things, just right click and select Delete. (Or highlight and press the delete key)
    16. If you did 14-15 correctly, now your Character Set should have Characters in Slots, it should have one Key Map (FTL DPS Keys) that has only one active Hotkey in it, it should have the Default Repeater Profile (otherwise mouse broadcasting will not work when you want it), and nothing else. This is what you asked for, enjoy!

Honestly, I cannot see a reason to use KC in conjunction with ISB.

I could see using HKN (free), specifically for the mouse broadcasting, with any other software... as HKN has great mouse broadcasting and can provide the equivalent of "repeater regions", for click based Grid/Healbot/Vuhdo healing... while still retaining your existing software.

Keyclone is essentially straight key broadcasting.

You press "5" and every other window is also sent "5".
You press "Shift T", and every other window also presses "Shift T".

To have an effect go to some toons (more than one), but not to all toons...
Within Warcraft, you have nothing on that keybind for the toon who does nothing.

You can do Round-Robin effects, with Keyclone.
And can network several computers together.

You can "blacklist" keys, so they're not broadcast.
Or "whitelist" keys, so only those are broadcast.

I wouldn't recommend either of those features (White/Blacklist) with ISB, because you can very easily set exactly who receives every action...

I was a KC user, before I became an IS Boxer user.
And when I made the switch, I too desired all my old/habitual keybindings.

The IS Boxer wizard essentially gave me...
Press "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0, - or =", and the other windows do the same (but assist first, without any need for an assist type macro within game).

Beyond that, any keybinding I had (I used Shift F1 through Shift F12, and Shift A through Shift Semi-Colon (the home row) as KC keybinds) had to be added to IS Boxer as Mapped Keys.
I put them in the General Keymap, because I wanted them to apply to every team... but also because I wanted to be able to toggle them off.

If you want to preserve your "known" keybinds, I'm highly recommending you go this route.
Plus you can now use the "Add Many Mapped Keys" that Lax has mentioned.

You'll notice that there are different targeting options.
You can use "Window: Current", which is only the active character.
Or "Window: All without Current", which is everyone except the active character.
You can even create a group (Action Target Group), and use that as your target.

If you want to round-robin, that's a checkbox, the same as with Keyclone.

Mouse Broadcasting (and Keyboard Broadcasting), which is combined into one function, is called "Repeater".
To mouse click manually, but with them all at once... example, on the Jamba-Item-Bar, you could enable Repeater... click on the active screen, and have all the others click too.
Then disable Repeater, and you're done.
Mouse Broadcasting is extremely accurate with IS Boxer, and will always work for game elements because they're in the exact same position (unless moved)... so you can do talents across a team of Shamans.

You could also create a "Send Next Click" action.
Basically, I've made a few Action Target Groups... such as AoE_On_4, Aoe_On_Shift_A, etc.
Then I have (on that mapped key)...
    Hotkey "4"
Action Send Next Click > Target: (The ATG) AoE_On_4.
Which will have everyone press "4", and the toons with AoE ground click stuff get a mouse targeting circle which moves in real-time to wherever I move the mouse in the current/active window, and after a click will disappear (turn itself off, on its own).
No need to activate/deactivate the "Repeater".

The only confusing part really of IS Boxer from KC, is the interaction of Key Maps and Repeater.

Key Maps are the collection of mapped keys.
When they're on, whatever the hotkey is for a mapped key...
Example FTL DPS 1... where you push one, the other windows assist you, and they receive "1"...
Or where I push Shift A, and all the others push Shift A... etc...
The hotkey, does the configured mapped key action, which is not necessarily the keybind you have sent.

Repeater is the same as "Broadcasting On", with Keyclone.
Except it is for both the keyboard and the mouse.

If both Key Maps and Repeater are on, the Key Map "trumps" the Repeater.
So if your hotkey is "a", and that sends "a" to the current window, but "b" to all of the others...
Pressing "a" will not send "a" to all windows while Key Maps are on, even if Repeater is also on.

While playing the game, you'll want:
    - Keymaps On & Repeater Off, 99% of the time.

While entering your password, to log in:
    - Keymaps Off & Repeater On.

When clicking on a portal in game, after backing your main up and having it face the same way as the slaves/other window characters:
    - Keymaps On & Repeater On...
(No need to turn hotkeys/mapped keys off, just to click a portal).

When chatting in trade/guild, you'll want:
    - Keymaps Off & Repeater Off
(Because you won't want 5 toons all saying the same thing, and you'll always want an "a" or "e" to be an "a" or "e").

My Guide to IS Boxer (signature link), has numerous examples of playing around with the Toolkit to change things... such as making a Repeater Key for the Keyboard only and another for the Mouse only.

Even if you don't use most/any of the example mapped keys, they're written with the idea that you know next to nothing of the software...
And will get you somewhat comfortable with it, giving you an idea of what to change or how to copy/adapt the wizard generated examples to achieve what you want.

    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

wow, thanks LAX and UALAA for the in-depth writeup... much MUCH appreciated.
Looks like I'll need to weekend project this and get real familiar with ISB.

I'm 25 boxing across 6 computers and 6 screens so it's quite daunting a task to think of... thanks for the quick replies!
