    6. Click back to your Character Set, and note the General tab… lets review some of the bottom Right pane…
“Launch each Character 5.0 seconds after another is ready”

You can change the checkboxes as you see fit, but for now, lets just leave them all alone. I only want you to ensure your checkbox for “Make game believe it is foreground window” is checked.

    7. Now click on the “1” in the lower left pane so we can edit the Character slot 1.

(Since Riker has you using “Page Up” and “Home”, I’ll keep using those, however please note, you can change these to whatever makes better sense to you.)
You should see a “Switching” tab at the top of the bottom pane.

    8. At the field “Hotkey to switch to this character”… click the “<” button and then press the “Home” key.

    9. Now click on the “2” in the lower left pane so we can edit the Character slot 2.

    10. Same as number 8, at the field “Hotkey to switch to this character” … click the “<” button and press the “Page Up” key.

(I used the F keys as indicted above)

    *Checkpoint*
So, what we’ve done thus far is, we’ve created our characters, and created a character set for which we will use to launch our game, and hold the “map” of how we want the characters to interact with one another. We have also made it so that no matter what screen we are on, if we press “Home” the game will swap windows to tA, and if we press the “Page Up” key, the game will swap windows to tB. Note that if you are already on tB, and press the “Page Up” nothing happens… but if later you are already in game, and alter your ISBoxer file, save it, and export it… even tho the game may say “loaded tB successfully updated” or something like that, you will want to press your “Page Up” key again after that to ensure any changes made are applied at that very moment.
----> If we were to click the Character Set named “2 man Inquisitors” the game will launch one window, we enter our account info, load that game, and 5 seconds later launches the other window, we enter our account info. When both games are up, we can press “Home” for tA and the window swaps… and we can press “Page Up” for tB and the window swaps. That’s it thus far.

So… Now we need to get the FTL modifiers set up so the toons will interact with one another. But before that, we need to address a few details first. We need three Key Maps (which is a set of keys that are unique for their own purpose).

    11. Right click on Key Maps and choose new key map. We need three of them, so go ahead and make all three, name them the following:

First one = “2 man Inquisitor Control”
Second one = “2 man Inquisitor tA”
Third one = “2 man Inquisitor tB”

(Note: the reason why we are descriptive with these, is because you will need to CLEARLY identify them, today, tomorrow, and many months from now or later. Its tough to try to remember what you did 8 months ago. Plus it makes other details later on, like “Whitelisting” and pointing the direction for Mapped Keys)

Think of this process as making a book. We have a title (our characters names), we have a cover (our Character Set), we need pages and paper (Controls Key Maps), and the details words on the paper (our hotkeys and mapped keys). Right now we need some Controls.

    12. Click on “2 man Inquisitor Control” and right click on mapped keys. We need a minimum of (4) mapped keys. Go ahead and make them and name them the following:

    First one = “Activate tA”
    Second one = “Activate tB”
Third one = “All keys OFF”
    Fourth one = “Mouse Repeater”

    13. Click on “Activate tA” and make a new hotkey key.

    14. Click on the “<” for the Hotkey, and set it to “Home”

    See where this is going??

    15. Now click on the “Steps” and make a new mapped key… in actions. We want to do a new key state action. For “Target”, use the pull down menu and choose “Window:All w/current”. For “Key Map”, use the pull down menu and choose “2 man Inquisitor tA”. And key state is “ON”

  2. #42

    Default

    16. Now for ease of repetition, right click on this new action, and choose “copy”. Then right click on the word “Actions” and choose “paste”. Do this a second time, so that you end up with (3) things under the “Actions” name.

    17. Click on the second one, and change the field for “Key Map” to “2 man Inquisitor tB”.. and then set the key state to “OFF”

    18. Click on the third one, and change the field for “Key Map” to “2 man Inquisitor Control”.. and then set the key state to “ON”

    19. Now, add one more thing under “Actions” by right clicking, and this time choose, the “Popup Text”. Over on the right, you can write whatever you like, for example “Hey dummy, tA is now Active!”

**EDIT NOTE** just like we did in step 4 and 5. Get the Character Set window for the bottom left panel open, and click and drag down the (3) Key sets you just made. “2 man Inquisitor Control”; “2 man Inquisitor tA”; “2 man Inquisitor tB”

    Save file.

    *Checkpoint*
So what this does, is… when you press the hotkey “Home” (as indicated over on the lower left pane), assuming the game is open and running, the game will swap to tA, and you will see a popup text flash across the screen that says “Hey dummy, tA is now Active!”. Meanwhile, it also deactivated tB as the leader. What does this mean? From the perspective of tB… when you are playing tB, you are playing from his point of view. So when you say “Target Me” you send a command to the OTHER window which is the “`” key. But if he dies. OH NO!!! and you press the “Home” key to instantly swap over to tA, and press the “`” key… nothing will happen. He wont get confused, at target the dead tB, because right now time is life. We don’t want to stand around watching toons die. Pressing “Home” deactivates the key maps for the tB, and putting tA in control, as well as the instant window swap.

In the future, when you get really tricky, you can write separate dps rotations for similar toons, or have the ability to use different class toons. Deactivating a healer, and activating a tank, is a critical function. And vice versa
    .

Lets see how well this is sinking in… I want you to do step 20 on your own.

    20. Click on “Activate tB”, and set up this hotkey as “Page Up”. (hint: be sure to swap the “on”s and “off”s and change your pop up text to depict the proper toon… try coloring the text too if you want)

    21. Click on “All Keys OFF”. This hotkey can be anything you want. Id use a key combo to ensure no accidental use of this one. Something like ALT+End. Change all the key states to off, EXCEPT CONTROL!!! and change the popup text to help identify when “ALL KEYS ARE OFF”

    22. Click on “Mouse Repeater”. (Im gonna have to get back to you on this one. I cant recall the actual wording for this one. Needless to say, you want to do a 2 step process. Step one is Mouse Sync and send it to all. Step two, you can use the same button, and turn it off. I use Mouse4 button. Add a popup text to each of the two steps. Step one, make it say “Mouse Repeat ON” and the popup text for Step two, make it say “Mouse Repeat OFF”

Save file… export to innerspace. Press the “Home” key.

    *Checkpoint*
Ok, by this time, you should be able to do the following…
Load up your team from nothing by opening ISBoxer, and right clicking on your Character Set, and selecting load. When fully loaded, you should be able to press the “Home” key, with windows swap to tA.. and a text flash across the screen indicating as such. Press the “Page Up” key, the window swaps, to tB and another text across the screen. You should also be able to press ALT+End and see a text flash, and none of your hotkeys work after that, except “Home” and “Page Up”. Lastly, you should be able to press your Mouse4 button once, see a flash on the screen something like “Mouse Repeat ON”, and wiggle the mouse, neat, and then press Mouse4 again, another text indicating its off.

BTW, you making it this far. Good job!

One more minor section to go, and you’re gonna be killin stuff in game.

    The FTL….

Main thing here is to always consider the PoV of the toon you are playing. For a two man setup its not that difficult.

    So…
    23. In the Key Maps section, click on “2 man Inquisitor tA”. Create a new mapped key. Lets actually make (4) of them. Name them the following:

    First one = “Target Me”
    Second one = “Follow Me”
    Third one = “Assist Me”
    Fourth one = “DPS1”

    24. Click on “Target Me”. There is NO hotkey for this so leave it blank. Seriously, Don’t do it. Under Steps, and under Actions, make a new mapped key. The “Target” for this key is the OTHER toon. Use the pull down menu and select “Character Slot 2: (tB)”. For the “Key Combination” (again using the keys Riker already attempted to have you use), click on the “<” and press the “`” key.

    25. Click on the “Assist Me”. In order for this to work, think logic. tB needs to first target you, then press F6 so that tB “Acquires Target of Target”. There is NO hotkey for this so leave it blank too. Under Steps, and under Actions, make (2) new mapped keys. The first one we need to tell tB to target tA. The in game keybind for this is “Target Party Member1”.. which I believe Riker had you change to “`”. The “Target” for this key, is again, the OTHER toon. Use the pull down menu, and again select “Character Slot 2: (tB)”. For the “Key Combination”, click on the “<” and press the “`” key. The second item in the “Actions” group, we will do the “Acquire Target of Target”… which I believe Riker had you change to “F6”. The “Target” for this key, is again, the OTHER toon. Use the pull down menu, and again select “Character Slot 2: (tB)”. For the “Key Combination”, click on the “<” and press the “F6” key.

    26. Click on the “Follow Me”. THIS ONE DOES HAVE A HOTKEY!! For the hotkey… erm, I dunno what Riker had you use… so lets change it to “F7” (note, I don’t like F7 for a follow key, because its not convenient, however, for the sake of the help today, just do it… you can change it later.) This one is similar to assist. First we need to tell the other toon to target us, then use the follow keybind which we will need to alter in game.

Matter of fact. Go in game now, and change both accounts, both kebinds, to use “Follow Target” as F7.

Back in ISBoxer, under “Step 1” and “Actions” right click and choose the mapped key action. For the “Target” use the pull down menu, and select “Character Slot 2: (tB). Then for the other click on the “<” and scroll to find the “Target Me” in “2 man Inquisitor tA”. Then in the same action, right click and new keystroke action, again, use the pull down menu, and again select “Character Slot 2: (tB)”. For the “Key Combination”, click on the “<” and press the “F7” key.

    27. Click on “DPS1”. The Hotkey for this is “1”. Under Steps, and under Actions, do the same as you did for setting up the “Follow Me”. Except this time, your first action is going to use “Assist Me”. Set the “Target” of this key to again, “Character Slot 2: (tB)”. Next create another new keystroke action under the same Actions, the “Target” is again “Character Slot 2: (tB)”. And the keystroke is “1”.

    Save your file.

Export to InnerSpace… press your “Home” key to refresh after its been updated.

    *Checkpoint*
Ok, so now, you have set up your characters.
You have created a character set.
You have moved the characters into your character set.
You have created a Control, and a tA and tB main key map sets.
You have moved the Control, tA and tB key map sets into your character set.
You have updated Controls to be able to swap screens, and activate and deactivate with a single key…
You have updated Control to have mouse repeater, and ability to turn off your key maps for troubleshooting in the future.
You have updated your tA and added FTL commands and one DPS
You can load your game, press “Home” then press “F7” and tB will follow you.
You can click on a target, then press the “1” key, (assuming your in range for both toons), and both toons will attack that target. Press “F7” again, then go loot your body.

What should be understood by now is that ISBoxer will allow you to create a key set for a toon. And using that key set, you can map ANY key the keyboard, but you need to be aware of what you want to do with them all in game.

Id like for you to complete step 28 thru 32 on your own. Please make use of the copy and paste commands… or create from scratch if you like.

    28. Click on your “2 man Inquisitor tB”, and create your (4) mapped keys for Follow, Assist, Target, and DPS1.

    29. Update Follow for tB.

    30. Update Assist for tB.

    31. Update Target for tB.

    32. Update DPS for tB.

    Save file… export to InnerSpace.

    *Final*
Your setup is complete. If you want to use Whitelists (like I do), go to your character set, and click on the second tab “Key Map White/Black Lists”. Simply click on the Control, tA and tB.. as long as they are selected.. ONLY those will ever be loaded for this team. Also you can click on the “1” and “2” in the Character Set lower pane and then click on the second tab… choose however many cores you want to tell your pc to handle a single Character Slot. (I.e. if you have 8 cores, put 4 on character slot one and 4 on character slot two)

Setting up a file from scratch isn’t hard. It normally takes me about 20 mins to get the basics.

You can go back to the “2 man Inquisitor tA” and “tB” sections, and add more dps keys. Read up on the forums about how to do rotations. How to do round robin skill attacks. How to make clickbars for healing.

If after this, you are still unable to get things working properly, please upload and post screen shots, of the following:
    Character Set.
    Character Slot 1
    Character Slot 2
    Control
    tA
    tB

Try to be as descriptive as possible.

    Thanks,
    Apps

    2. If your toons are already loaded in the Character section, leave them be.

    3. Make a new Character set.
To do this, simply right click and choose new. Name it something thats easily identifable.. like "2 man Inquisitors"
    Note that its fairly empty.
We need to add some charcters to it.

    4. Click on your characters at the top to expand the fields and expose the names of tA and tB from the Characters section.

    5. Click on your newly created Character Sets name, so that you can see your Character Set build tree in the lower left.

(With the bottom left pane open, mouse to the top, and scroll the top pane till you see your characters, click and drag their names down into the bottom left window (should be the character set screen), and watch ISBoxer auto-populate your two character slots... now tA is in character slot 1, and tB is in character slot 2.
Okay I have done this up to this point.

I'll do the rest of your amazing list when I get back from taking my parents to lunch in two and a half hours.

Edit... Potential issue there. I noticed some of the keybinds dont match up. So to be clear,

    Go to this link
    < CLICK_ME! > as a double check.

And make sure your in game keybinds match up.

I just finished step 22 and loaded it. I thought I had a problem, but will write more as I continue.

HOME does what it is supposed to do - switch the screen to TOON A.
Page Up does what it is supposed to do - switch the screen to TOON B.
ALT+End does what it is supposed to do and turns off all keys for the other screen.

    On to the next section!

I am guessing you meant for me to make a new keystroke action instead of a new mapped key? If not I am confused at this point.

    Default Key Bindings

I changed my in game key bindings so they would at least make a little sense.

Target Party Member 1 is F2 originally, and you can add in an alternate choice which I chose F6 leaving the F2 choice in as well.
I made Follow Target which is normally blank in game to F7.
Acquire Target's Target is left blank in game and I made this ` (tilde).

I think I am getting these correct in ISBoxer.

However I've come to the following confusing snag:

This whole section below is confusing and try as I might, couldn't figure it out after 30 minutes of searching and trying different things. Not sure what to do since I don't understand where to find some of the things you listed. When you say "New Mapped Key" under actions I of course can find those, but I don't know which specific one to use. Earlier with the pictures I was able to figure out this meant a "New Mapped Key State Action". But Now I don't think it does because I can't find what you are asking me to find, such as Then for the other click on the “<” and scroll to find the “Target Me” in “2 man Inquisitor tA”. as it was no where to be found in the different mapped keys and other action keys I tried.

    This section has me lost.

    25. Click on the “Assist Me”. In order for this to work, think logic. tB needs to first target you, then press F6 so that tB “Acquires Target of Target”.

I got to the DPS1 - item number 27 on the list and am stumped again. I'm sure that's no surprise!

I uploaded my file to sendspace here http://www.sendspace.com/file/e0dbk8 so if you want to look at it you can see what I've done so far.

I exported what I had to inner space and I'm having the same error messages I had when I originally set it up myself following several of the guides on here. Nothing happens in my second window. My first window (whichever one I have on screen 1) does the action, but it's not supposed to. Only my second window is. By using Character Slot: 2(Toon B) I'm assuming that is sending the message to inner space to have that toon do the actions that we have listed?
