Cannot figure out how to get follow and assist to work in inner space / ISboxer...

Now - I'm awake. It's 3pm my time (West coast in USA) and I'm not sure what you want me to do. Completely start fresh and make a new XML ISBoxer set up myself or keep the current one you made me and work within that.

I'll just wait on a response. I can do it either way. One problem is when I originally wrote my ISBoxer set up for WoW I thought I understood what things did, now I seem hazy on it. Could be old age! Also of course WoW is easier due to macros that you simply linked to keys. One button for follow, one button to make a two step rotation of spells work.

Upon further checking. I did not have the latest version of ISBoxer. I do now.

` still works to target my main window character and follow him after I imported from ISBoxer the set up Riiker sent me.
When I target a target on my main window and press F6 it says "Target has no target" on my main window and nothing happens on my second window. When I click to my second window while my first window has a target and my second window has my first window character selected and hit F6 he does acquire the target my first window has as a target. So it appears the F6 key works, but only in the current window. In ISBoxer it shows that Acquire Targets Target is supposed to be All w/o current, but that seems to not be happening.

I tried to change what I thought my be the conflict in ISBoxer and it gave me an error that said it wouldn't work that way due to something I didn't comprehend. I'm thinking if this doesn't work I'll copy your follow section since that works and paste that into a new clean ISboxer profile. Then tweak around until I can get the acquire target of target to work. Is that possible? (The copying from one ISBoxer profile and then pasting it into another?

I've never tried to. You might also just try to delete everything but that.

Itll only take me a few minutes to get you a generic setup for two characters.

One last thing... make sure that when you start up your game, you press "Home" to activate SLOT 1 key maps. And if you click into your alt's window to focus and activate it, you need to press "Page Up" to activate SLOT 2 key maps.

Anytime you are playing from your main, just start out by pressing "Home" a couple of times and if you switch to your Alt, just press "Page Up" a couple of times. I have a feeling that will solve your problem... hopefully.

Okay - Now SWTOR is back up and running.

I reloaded your profile and ` is still working great for follow.

I used HOME to activate Slot 1 - still nothing happens upon acquire target of target. Using Page Up activating Slot 2. Still nothing.

I scrapped everything and followed (again) Darkmod's Follow/Assist SWTOR for Dummies and now I'm back to nothing working correctly unless I have on broadcasting. I have no idea what I'm obviously doing that makes it act that way. You'd think following it exactly like Darkmod's would work for me.

With the new baby I'm sure you didn't have time to work on the simple follow/assist you had mentioned building, Riiker, which is totally understandable. I'll keep trying and maybe get lucky!

Thanks much. I'm super excited to be a new father again. Being a dad at 37 is FAR different from being a dad at 19. I'm more calm, relaxed, actually enjoying the child I created. Love all my boys.

Huston, you have a problem... and I know what the solution is.

All the help Riker is doing here to assist, just fell apart with this. I applaud him for his efforts. Lets straighten this out. The above reference to the "Home" and "PageUp" keys needs to be addressed first.

So, lets give Riker some time to tend to his family and I will help you, Malgor, to finish this setup.

Few things.

Using click swap, without a key press can get mucked up fast. Abandon the click swap. I realize it seems convenient, however once you start using key swap, and realize how well it will work for you, I guarantee you wont go back to click swap.... Heres why.... You can swap screens, characters, AND load up specific map key sets with one button press. No need to swap, and press a button to load the right key map set.

I.e. (I'll refer to my own setup as example. I play with a mouse in right hand, and WASD keys with the left. Given my left hand also covers the main DPS rotation keys "1 thru 6", I use F1, F2, F3, and F4 to swap windows... they are easy and within reach... So, F1 = player 1; F2 = Player 2 etc etc) When I press F1, ISBoxer swaps to that screen, deactivates the other screens as the leader, thus only the player 1 is the leader, sending keys to the rest (via ISBoxer), as well as playing his own.

***EDIT** Found a potential problem area.
Be sure to Edit your in-game keybinds to the following:
“Home” UNBIND
“Page UP” UNBIND
~ = Target Party Member1
F6 = Acquire Targets Target
F7 = Follow Target

What Id like to see accomplished is, you being able to identify how to write a new file, from scratch, and understand why. Since you made the comment that you thought you had it down with WoW and now feel a bit hazy,... well, thats indicative that Lax deserves mad props for the scripts he writes for the WoW wizard. Thats the goal. To make it very simple. Unfortunately, SWToR doesnt have the FTL modifiers in the game... so, we have to write them for ourselves, and they are character slot specific.(In case youre wondering FTL stands for Follow Me, Target Me, and Assist Me. ((I dunno why an "L" and not an "A")))So... lets get started with a new file.

1. I want you to delete your Character Set for these toons. (Since I dont know their names, I'll call them toonA or tA and toonB or tB)

2. If your toons are already loaded in the Character section, leave them be.

3. Make a new Character set.To do this, simply right click and choose new. Name it something thats easily identifable.. like "2 man Inquisitors"Note that its fairly empty. We need to add some charcters to it.

4. Click on your characters at the top to expand the fields and expose the names of tA and tB from the Characters section.

5. Click on your newly created Character Sets name, so that you can see your Character Set build tree in the lower left.(With the bottom left pane open, mouse to the top, and scroll the top pane till you see your characters, click and drag their names down into the bottom left window (should be the character set screen), and watch ISBoxer auto-populate your two character slots... now tA is in character slot 1, and tB is in character slot 2.
