Cannot figure out how to get follow and assist to work in inner space / ISboxer...

Um, did you double check your in game key bindings for toon B?

Yes they are the same as Toon A. Sorry this is such a huge hassle. I wish I knew it better and could just make the changes myself, but I've never been great with ISBoxer and getting the grasp of what I am really doing. I can follow guides okay, but... I'm old.

Go to sleep. You don't need to be worrying about this. Especially since you'll probably be up off and on with the baby throughout the night.

k, I found your problem... I think.

First of all.. Page Up sucks balls. The game is trying to use chat. Ditch Page up, and change it easier stuff. I use F1 for main window, and F2 for second window.

So I altered your file, and made Slot 1's hotkey (within the character set), to F1 instead of Home.
I changed Slot 2's to F2 instead of Page Up.

I then went to your controls, and changed those too... Home became F1, and Page up became F2.

Youre DPS keys are weird. so I altered them too. Now its going to Window:Current for the first line, and the second line, Im sending "1" to Window: All w/Current. so now when I press "1" it sends Assist to the other toon, and then "1" to all toons. Also, you have to give your DPS keys a hotkey. So "1" gets a hotkey of "1". DPS2 gets a hotkey of "2" and so on.


Dunno if you were doing this or not, but be sure your toons are grouped. It makes a difference.

Anyway, I got it working perfectly.

Ill try to figure out how to upload it and you can have it.

As a side note, if ISBoxer has a hotkey assigned (F1 for example) when you press F1 ISBoxer kinda intercepts it and uses it for itself. SWTOR the actual game would never know that you just pressed F1 since it is already assigned as a hotkey in ISBoxer.

Malgor, you're welcome. I personally only ask one thing. Remember this experience when you are boxing a year from now, you're more experienced, and a user needs help. Im sure you know, and its no secret, we boxers have a tough enough time dealing with the uneducated people who rally against us. Love seeing a promotion of brotherhood from our standpoint.

Anyway, Rikers got this nailed. Short version.. wherever you used "Home" and "Page Up" in ISBoxer, I changed them to "F1" and "F2"... I did NOT change the in game Bindings.

Exactly as Riker explained. (great way of looking at it too btw), Since ISBoxer is using F1 and F2 as a hotkey for a swap and key map load, and not an actual "key press" for something in game, then there is no need to change the in game keybinds. Not boxing, there is no ISBoxer. So when you press F1 on your keyboard, SWToR takes that input and uses it for the game... it "knows" what to do with it, because the preset ingame keybinds tell itself that F1 is for Target Party Member 1. However, us boxers, we use multiplexers (ISBoxer) to grab or intercept (I like that word), the key press, and use it... so you could conceivably (for example), set your "B" key in game to something like Jump. without ISBoxer, you press B and he jumps. With ISBoxer, you can write a quick script or mapped key that when you press N, to send B to the game. Now, without actually changing anything in game, when you press N... your guy jumps. Make sense?

Since you are using F6 for TPM1 anyway, (thus freeing up F1... and not to mention its a lot closer to my left hand than Home or Page Up), I decided to use F1 as your player Slot 1 swap and activation. Repeat for F2... and Voila! it works.

I noticed that Page Up when I pressed it, would swap screens, but it wasnt loading the correct key maps. When I windowed back to the first toon (because you typically will swap FROM that window), I noticed the chat had scrolled up... Ah-HA! I said.

Oh and in case you didnt figure it out already, I changed the Window layout for something a bit more to my liking. Feel free to run the window setup wizard from the top menu bar, and set it back to how you like it. I prefer windows stacked. Since Im not using click to swap anyway, who cares. Besides, I use the other monitor to read www.dual-boxing.com forums.

Good Morning!

Well I just got up. Yes I know I slept in - I don't have a baby in the house.

I loaded the ISBoxer profile you had fixed and imported it to Inner Space. The swapping with F1 / F2 works great. I just have to correct the screens because I have two monitors not one.

However acquire target's target still does not work. If I'm on either F1 screen or F2 screen. It just tells whatever screen I'm on that my target doesn't have a target if I'm targeting an NPC. What have I done wrong?

EDIT:

I went into ISBoxer and tried changing the Assist me second action from Target Character Slot:2(Toon B) to all w/o current, but that didn't make it work, so I changed it back.

So am experimenting around in ISBoxer to see why that's not happening.

I added in more DPS keys all the way through 5 and they all work with both toons without repeaters of any kind on, just like they are supposed to work.

It's hard to tell because stuff dies so fast, but I think that when I hit DPS1-5 my second toon automatically is assisting if I've changed targets. Where the acquire target's target is not working is when I initally select a mob that is in front of us and press the ` key. My second window does not pick up that target unless I hit F8 (repeaters all on) then hit ` then turn off repeaters by hitting F8 again. So will try and see why that isn't working.

Yanno, I thought about that last night, but I think I was so tired at 2:00 am that I forgot to mention it. Very pleased that you figured it out on your own tho.
Now the fun begins!

Because you are using two melee toons. Why not have a super cool set of dps buttons and add in a "Follow Me" as STEP 2, and use the key to activate STEP 1 when you press the key, and STEP 2 when you release the key? What will happen is, as you spam the key, its attacking with the press, and reorienting with follow upon release of the same key. Awesome huh?

Then you'll wanna start doing multiple key presses with a single DPS key, "round-robin" leaps and stuns, add in click bars for the "oh shit" moments... the list goes on.

Okay am really going now.

Hey, you're welcome. I havent played SWtor in quite a while. Actually the first time I restarted the game was to test out your setup...lol I had to do 2 decent size patches..lol I may start playing again.

Now I just need to figure out the best DPS line up. And, right now it's not too cumbersome to hit F7 when I want my toon to help me track down those ranged fighters. I try and target the ranged in the group first as we force leap in, so that eliminates one track down.
