That's a jamba issue (I believe) it happens sometimes to me too. Sometimes you can make it stop doing that by switching jamba leaders away from the character you are on and then back to it.

If you use Strobe, you sometimes have issues.
If you manually initiate follow... its initially annoying that you have to manually press it each time, but that's not really a big deal.
After a while, it becomes a habit, which is not an issue at all.

Strobe was a nice tool, but it had errors which got annoying.

The camera spin thing, is a Warcraft issue.
The same as toons that run off, when you spam the IWT thing too much.
The fix for the camera spin, is to right click on the ground anywhere... which effectively re-aligns the world/camera, so it knows which way you should be facing.

Had this same problem with strobing. the reason it does this is you need to set the master on switch to be the stobe. In game type /jamba then on the menu look for follow on the left. then on the main part of the menu put a check in the box that when u change character it sets character to the new master and enables strobing on that specific character. Im at work now so dont have it infront of me but i had this problem forever and it sucked. I would change to a dif character and i would get 5 feet away and it would automatically turn me around and start following another toon that was just playing on. When i get home ill put the exact item you need to enable if you cant find it!

Jamba could be different now, but I did enable (about two years ago) the options you mention.
I specifically asked in the Jamba thread, and was directed to the option by Jafula.
And still had the random issue of a toon sometimes following the previous leader.

Getting rid of Strobe follow entirely, as in never turning it on...
And placing my follow hotkey, as one of my mouse thumb buttons...
    That was an easy fix.
For a session or two, I'd sometimes have a "stranded" toon.
And would have to go and collect them.
In under a week, it became second nature to hit the follow button on the mouse anytime my main toon moved the group elsewhere.
If you ever watch my stream or the videos, you will see in pink letters, "FTL Follow" or something to that effect, spammed very frequently on the active screen.

Pretty simple to do, and I never have an issue with the master ever following one of the slave toons.

    Use whatever works for you.
Strobe is a good tool, if you can get it working.
Pushing follow manually isn't any better or any worse, but you never have the Strobe issue (having traded it... for the possibility of forgetting to push the hotkey instead).
