WoW...and I thought Barrens chat was bad. :/
Now playing: WoW (Garona)
Honestly the chat has been *really* *really* bad. But with so much new and shiny shit to look at, I haven't paid the chat box any attention what so ever. It also helped we were all on mumble together so there was no real need to type.
One thing that was really awesome is like SW:TOR has different phases when a zone gets populated, Tera has this same feature. It makes for camping an elite / spawn very easy since you can just hop channels until you found one that had fewer people trying to camp that particular mob.
I never made it past level 11. I spent the rest of the weekend in AV gearing my shaman. Looking forward to the next beta test though.
Added a fourth video to the original post. Experimenting with a new style.

I've been boxing Lineage 2 since it came out 8 years ago. boxed 2 complimentary alts profitably on retail, and up to 9 alts killing epic raids bosses on private servers. here is what i learned so far about TERA. this Unreal 3 engine can be window'ized and boxed as small as 800x600 and animations and details can be lowered. each paid account can hold as many as 8 characters. so the question is CAN WE BOX THIS?
I signed up for Test 4, which is 2 char per server to lvl.32 so hopefully I'll figure it out for myself, I'm just amazed that a game that's been out a year in Asia, does not seem to have this question answered yet... at least not in English![]()
I know this game requires aiming to a hitbox which can vary in size based on the attack and size of enemy. what I would like to know is if any race/class/skill can "auto-hit" so a boxer can start hitting on one alt while supporting on another.
from what i can see watching various game play videos, the most we can do is hit with a DD, pull aggro to keep healer safe, stop hitting, switch to healer, heal party target or caste a fresh "healing wind" or "guardian armor" or "essense of recovery", switch back to DD, and continue hitting monster while benefiting from the support. if that's the best a boxer can hope to do in this game, it hardly seems worth the bother and monthly expense to box.
assuming we can't auto-hit at all, then my plan will be to make a warrior, because they can summon a 7xHP "shadow clone" that can distract mob and auto-hit for them, so at least while not controlling your warrior, he won't be pulling aggro and still taking damage. then my second in party alt would be a priest or mystic for heals and buffs. if anyone else has thoughts on what may be worth boxing here, please share them.
for example, many classes have skills that stun or trap a monster which would create an opportunity for a boxer to task switch to another alt for support or even to do more damage, so a kiter can trap a mob while a melee gets in a few good wacks. some classes have HP or MP self regeneration skills that take time and monster damage may interrupt, so you can use a boxed character to pull aggro while your main completes his regeneration cycle.
given that many game designers came from NCSoft, they continue to use Unreal engines, and charge monthly fees, i seriously doubt the game server has mechanisms to discourage boxing. most likely it's the game play itself that requires so much intime and accurate interaction that will impede most boxing activity. this is why anyone who has played various races/class in closed beta already, should start thinking now on what combinations of characters could make dual boxing worthwhile.
