Default (SWTOR) Does this mean I need a better CPU?

ISBoxer window is open, and 4 clients of SWTOR open

    i3-3.1MHz

I thought these were dual core only.. Why do I see (4)? Game play is difficult in some spots. Will pushing an i7 cut the usage? and is it predictable enough to tell me by how much?

Assuming you have the Core i3 2100... that CPU is on par with the old Q9550 from four years ago. A 2500 or better
will of course give you better results assuming the rest of your system can handle it.

Thanks Fen, and Bollwerk. Time to dig through the couch for change and the wife's purse for cash to get the new CPU.

    Purchased.

I had a tragedy that was a blessing in disguise. My processor i3 got fried. Not entirely sure what cooked it, but its unusable. I tried it in a couple spare mobos and... nothing. Dead. I put my sons i3 in my mobo... works fine.

Sooo, Today I picked up the following.

    (1) Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H- B3 Mobo
    (1) Intel i7 2600K LGA1155 CPU
    (2) sticks of 4GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM

Cant wait to get it all installed tonight,.....This should fix my broken processor.

You should RMA/Warranty that i3 and sell it.

The build works, what can I say?

Seal of approval. Awesome. Yanno, I hadnt thought about seeing if I can return the i3. No harm in trying. Good idea.
