Default All been posted before... but... new machine time!!!

I'm on a bit of a budget, running 4 shammies on 1 box ATM, and it's slow... real slow. 5fps on the slave windows pretty much all the time. Training is a one at a tiume process.. so it's time for some upgrades. Current machine is (get this...) Sempron 2800+ running XP, 1gb memory, evga 7600gt card. I'm leveling, but that's about all I can do ATM.. forget running around cities. I have to turn maximizer off and run them around 1 at a time.

    This is what I'm thinking..

Dual core intel processor/mobo combo from tigerdirect, about $200. 8600gt video card, best price wins. 2gb memory ATM, upgrading to 4gb in a few weeks. Planning on running Windows Vista X64. I currently run 2 copies of wow off of drive 1, and the other 2 off of drive 2.

Going to use existing drives, case, PS for the time being.

Can anyone drop a guess as to what performance I'm going to get out of something of that sort?

    Thanks in advance.
Resto Shaman + 4 DK's, work in progress...

I have almost the same setup, but with a lesser vid card and running XP. I run with all video settings turned to lowest settings and get ~45 fps on primary window, and ~25-30fps on my 4 alts. I have all 5 wow sessions running on one HD using Keyclone.

The processor and RAM alone will probably get you up to 15fps on the slaves out in the world and you should be able to follow each other around through cities OK. You won't be astounded but you should go from "Crap, this hardly works" to "well, it's slow in shatt but at least it works all the time."

Also note that you can get an 8800 variant of the video card for another 20-30 bucks. Well worth it, IMO.
