One account will be left out giving free levels.
    The basic choices are:
    A > B > C
    A > D > E

The first is great, if you have one existing toon and are adding four new accounts.
This could be true, if you're interested in making a new set of teams on a "boxing" server.
A would boost BCDE; I typically suggest boosting four sets as a baseline, because the cascade granting levels work out perfectly.
C/E get no granted levels, so just the four toons.
B/D get two free toons, and the four boosted toons.
A is the booster, but ends up getting six free toons from granted levels.

    And:
    A > B > C > D > E

This is good, if you have toons on A already.
Since you're not giving granted levels to A from two different chains.

It gets you the most total granted levels, spread across the team.
    Only "E" gets none.

You can also go with two existing accounts.
    Call them "A" and "B".
Call the one with the better "booster" "A".
    RAF like this:

    A > C > D
    B > E

And boost with "A"; C/D and B/E each get RAF.

If you want to "balance" them out afterwards.
You can do a paid character transfer.

Last night I went from 20-36, running 4 x warrior + Shaman healer, I kept queuing random dungeons. (instant queue ofc)

First time I did the quests, subsequent times I took the quickest path to the boss for the significant bonus exp.

My warriors needed hardly any healing and I didn't really stop - I just ploughed through the instance chain pulling - sometimes 3 packs at a time - CLEAVEEEE

It felt much quicker than I'd imagine a solo player doing.

Ive got my 3 pala + 1 DK team up to 78 by spamming dungeons + max 10-15 BGs. Ive also been using several hours fixing macros and stuff like that. And my played time is now around 3-4 days. Its very doable to ding 85 in 1-2 days played, but then you cant slack :P

    Cool

i just hit 80 today. I ran myself through with my 85 dk.

    As such:
    10-15 Org dungeon.
    15-20 SFK
20-38 SM GY,Lib, Arm, Cath ( Might be better to move to others and avoid 1hr lock out, but i got lazy)
    38-44 DM
    44-49 ZF
    49-54 BRD
54-60 LBRS/UBRS (Do both for the xp)
    60-61 Ramps, BF
    62-65 Underbog,SPens
    65 Ring of Blood
    66-68 Auchidon Crypts, MT, Seth
68-70 Bot, Arc (DO NOT RUN MECH, the instance XP is bugged.)

** I leveled two teams in the past week like this. I found that hitting 70 BEFORE you go to Northrend keeps your instance questing lined up with RAF.

    70-71 Nexus
    71-72 UK
    72--74 AZN, Old King.
    74-75 DTK
    75 Ring of Blood
    75-76 VHold
    76-77 Gundrak
    77-78 Ulduar HoS, HoL
    78-80

Two ways to do the last two levels. I did both.
    A) Run the 3 ICC 5 mans (Take some survival skills/more micro managing toons)
    B) Utgarde Pinacle

I found this the least boring way to level via boost. Might not be the fastest, but i also got the achievs.

By running instances and doing the instance quests, do you get the equipment you need to keep up with game content? I am especially thinking about Cata dungeons. I read that the dungeons there are brutal if you are under-geared and that getting the quest greens will help a lot more than having WotLK blues/epics.

Finally once you hit level 85 by doing the dugeon runs ( assume doing Utgarde Pinacle as Candlebox wrote) do you have the ilevel to start doing 10m and 25m LFR?

You're kind of forced to do quest with the ilvl requirement in cata - you just won't be able to enter instances without getting the gear somehow. <80 it's not an issue.

Other than that, personally I now run full heirlooms on new groups - even if it means grinding them before I start. So that helps considerably <80 with gearing

Yes you get the gear you need from instances assuming you have BoA's, if you dont have BoA's then you will still get the gear but one or two toons may fall behind for a couple instances.

Cata has ilvl requirements you wont be able to reach until about halfway through hyjal/vash.

LFR has a minimum ilvl as well but when you reach 85 you can buy enough crafted/boe gear to get in.

If you don't like questing, then you can manually zone into Ragefire Chasm at lv10 and it is possible to kill stuff at that level (and you get heaps of xp doing it). Run it 1-2 times and you'll ding the 5 levels required (assuming RAF) for lfg.
That said, it was a little difficult trying to heal it with a resto sham since it only has healing wave at that level; priest however already has flash heal and aces it. my resto sham was fine once it got some BoAs.
