Default Rank the dps of the classes at 85

Which classes(+their spec) shine in dps at 85? I've never had a group at 85 yet but I am getting close. Just wondering what classes to avoid.

I pugged some instances and since people are so shit at dpsing correctly (hunters doing 2400 dps), I have no idea which classes are good or bad.

    Thanks.

Have you used proper cast sequence macros?

My ele shamans are doing 12-13k in Ruthless pvp gear.

When my PTR client updates I'll make one button DPS macros and do a chart for all classes in PVP gear, but obviously as you start swinging towards PVE, it all starts changing with haste and mastery and some classes will start doing more DPS with less better gear than others.

Generally, ranged dps is going to be a bit easier to sustain than melee dps for the same reasons as it's true for single boxing, but with the added complication of proper positioning with a multiboxing setup.

I guess the answer would depend on, doing what? Sustained dps on single targets stationary? Burst DPS on the move most of the time? AOE? Pre-badge horrible gear, badge gear, PvP gear, lfr gear, etc. Are you planning on having dedicated healing?

Not all classes specs do very well at the edges of the single function especially hybrids, which is good for class balance. Some specs are horrible unless they are raid geared. Some specs require specific gear to work almost, some are single stat based almost.

You can easily zone into naxx25, pull a gargoyle and have your a DPS character go at it while your tank keeps it occupied. When it turns to stone back off a few steps into the room that has the portal and set it reset. Rince and repeat until your macro(s) are honed.

You really want to be able to do something more than just DPS a single target, you need to be able to switch targets quickly with very little idle. A lot of proc based spec suffer greatly if they cannot capitalize on their procs. The way the talent trees are currently, this is very key. The specs surround capitalizing on procs.

As for good/great & very easy aoe, elemental shamans will probably come very close since this patch to the first spot, chain lightning spam is all it takes (cooldown has been removed).

My elementals are easily able to pull down 12-14K in mostly PVP gear on the raid boss target dummy. If I chainlightning spam I can get 20-22K on the 3 raid boss training dummies in Ogrimmar. I have reforged for some +hit so my crit and haste have dropped off but. I can burst at 20-28K single target for about 20 seconds.

But that being said I macro use of trinkets, racials and elemental mastery into my rotations 2-step macros. Sub-par DPS could be a macro issue. I think on my girls I even mix in the occassional purge and windshear on my shammies so I could probably do better if I would refine it a bit more.

I'm about 20-24k dps on my shammies in raids atm. 24-26k dps while solo boxing.

    AoE is 30k dps easy

On my last patchwerk 10 kill I got the following:
    Fire Mage: 17.3k (1.14m)
    Ele: 16.6k (1.10m)
    Ele: 15.2k (1.04m)
    Bear: 9.3k (800k)
Destro Lock: 9.3k (580k) -obviously not working properly
    Disc: 4k (smitespam-223k)

I've seen it said on these forums a few times that Ele shams are easiest/best at getting high macro dps at 85 and I tend to agree. My mage only won above because it out gears the Eles fairly decently - it does about 5k dps more on LFR ultraxion than my best Ele when solo'd.

This is only anecdotal, but in my guild raids, our Boomkin seem to top the meters, especially for single target fights.

Then your boomkin is overgeared, really good, or the rest of your raid suck balls or is undergeared :d

If you want an indication about what each spec pulls, in average gear in current 10m normal dragon soul content, then this link is your best overview: http://raidbots.com/dpsbot/Overall_D...14/30/default/
This is what real people pull, with the current gear state, based on guilds that upload their logs to worldoflogs.com.

If you were to do the same for 10m heroic you'll see that certain specs do far more dps. Not so much due to gear upgrades, but because the players who clear heroic content can get more out of specs that require more skill (= specs were tyou need to keep track of more procs/keep up buffs, that have issues with movement fights, etc ...).

And if you really want to have a good idea about what specs currently pull in raids, you'll have to select each individual fight. Since certain classes take better advantage of gimmick fights (i.e. all the buffs madness give scale for example really poor for ele shamans).

If you click ultraxion heroic 10m, the current patchwork style fight that requires no movement, you'll see that boomkins are last, right before ele shamans (that's because most shamans suck though).

For a 5m pve boxer, ele is very strong because they have a spell (chain lightning) that can be spammed both as single target and as aoe, without dps loss at low gear levels.
