    Default TOR Boxing Issues

    I have a few random problems multiboxing TOR so far. I've read all of the posts here on db.com and on the isboxer forums about the issues I have here and haven't been able to fix them. So, let's brainstorm

    1. My follow key is setup like Darkmod explained--It is a mapped key in ISBoxer with one step. The step looks like this:

    Target party1-->All other
    Unsheathe weapons-->All other
    Follow target-->All other
    Unsheathe weapons-->All other
    Follow target-->All other
    Unsheathe weapons-->All other

    It works perfectly in that the broken follow in game is nonexistent. I do have to spam it every 4-5 seconds as other people do. My issue is that every time I hit my mapped key for follow my alts turn around and stop for about a quarter of a second and then follow my leader. So, as I spam it, the alts will slowly fall behind. Also because of this, I can't attach follow to a dps key because they try and turn around and then back to the target.

    No amount of changing how many Unsheathe weapons-->All other or where they're located fixes the issue. Removing them fixes it... But then follow breaks in game. I also tried to split the key up into multiple steps in various configurations--Nothing worked to fix the "turn around and stare at the wall" issue. Is this just a function of our solution to broken follow?

    2. There are quite a few keys that do not get passed properly. All of the function keys (F1-F12) do not register for some reason. I can bind them in game and setup the mapped key but the game just does not register it when I press the hotkey for that mapped key. Many of the special characters (brackets, commas etc) also do not work.

    3. I can't get any mapped key to properly send a key that has a shift, alt or control modifier with it. I turned on "hold while any key is pressed" on the mapped key--It didn't work. Does the option to force the game to believe it is the foreground window need to be turned on?

    4. Finally, I can't get jump or any movement keys to work. I make the keymap fine and have it bound in game properly. I have the "hold" option turned on for the key and I used innocuous buttons that I can use to bind other actions (follow, target party1 etc). The window I have focused will jump but the alts refuse.

    Anyone have any specific help or feedback for these issues? Thanks in advance

    The "moon walking" you are referring to, is a known problem. Basically, what I believe is happening is, when you press /follow for the first time, the slave toon will auto orient to a predisposed position behind the lead target. If your lead target is moving, the result is the slave doing the "moonwalk". IF! you were to press /follow while stationary, then move your leader to X location (assume the follow isnt broken), the slave has no reason to turn around and reorient, and thus never enters the "moonwalk"... But as we have to 3-4 second spam, the /follow command... eh, you get the picture.

    I dont use ->all other. I use ->self for the follow and the Draw Weapon.

    so..
    1. Nope. You got to deal with the occasional half a second Moonwalk every now and then.
    2. and 3. Ive noticed this too, but I just assumed it was something I did wrong in the ISB setup. I typically use the CTRL+Fkeys for keymapping and keybinds, but only use a single key for the actual hotkey. make sense?
    4. Youre doing something wrong there. I'll send you my setup tonight. I have a JumpFollow keymap made for use with speeders. Remanz let me know that the Draw Weapon works for walking and running, but doesnt for speeders. My Jump keymap and hotkeys are all setup and done, and work.

    I dont remember exactly what it is right this moment, but I copied my Assist, and created a JmpAssist. Remove the hotkey for this. Then when setting up the Do New Mapped Key Action, I selected the JmpAssist as the action, set it to ->self and Assigned the Spacebar as the hotkey.

    anyway, ill be on tonight, we can discuss it more then.

    Ahhh 1. makes more sense now. I thought when people were saying "moonwalk" they were referring to toons getting stuck.

    I'm going to play around with max camera distance and stuff like that. It might fix the issue.

    I solved 2, 3, and 4. If you don't have the option "Make game believe it is the foreground window" turned on then the function keys etc won't get passed. It also is a requirement for movement and jump keys to get passed properly.

    So everything's fixed.

    I'm going to do a video a la my DK video once I get everything setup to work like I want it to.

    The best fix for 1) for you is to not use unsheathe. It doesn't work in PvP because you cannot unsheathe/sheath in combat. You will also discover that unsheathe will not actually work in extended PvE for the same reason.

    Make a specific jump keybind, I used X as my secondary keybind in game. Make that keybind only pass once every 3-4 seconds or so, and then have your autofollow macro call that jump keybind as opposed to sheathe/unsheath.

    Now your characters will only stop and look the direction the camera is pointed a max of every 3-4 seconds, and jump works in combat to break the animation cycle which leads to the desync.

    When I started PvPing with my sentinels, it became rapidly apparent that sheathe simply doesn't work so I had to re-evaluate and jumping appears to be the best solution. Limiting how often your characters will actually send the jump key also slows down turning spam so they fall behind more slowly.

    Interesting, I tried out jump and found that if you don't have the "hold" option turned on your guys won't actually jump BUT it still breaks the desync. It's perfect.

    I'm definitely going to do another manifesto once I get everything working just right.

    Im not putting anymore effort into it past the Draw Weapon method I currently have working. I did use the jump for a bit, and while you can jump while in combat, and cant draw weapon or sheath it, I believe the command from ISBoxer is still sent. Ive been in combat from a mob that was too low level, and decided to just keep running, still pressing the spam "Draw Weapon + follow"... sure, it didnt put the weapon away, but the follow still worked.

    Well,

    At least we know now that they are actively working on it. Thanks for this Apps.

    1. Awesome post find. I'm now 95% satisfied boxing--I just need some more RAM (2 bad sticks fml) and I'll be 99% happy. Still need a follow system for warzones, that'll be 100%

    2. What I mean, Apps, is that if you make a follow key that looks like this:

    Target party 1
    Follow
    Jump
    Follow
    Jump

    Buuuuuuuuuuut you turn off the "Hold any keystroke while button is pressed" then you don't actually jump. You still moonwalk BUT it's less than with unsheathe weapons AND it works in combat. All you need to do is spend 30 seconds changing your key--I guarantee you it'll be worth it

    In PvP sheathe/unsheath will not work. This is because you don't break the animation. What breaks the animation is your character physically re-aligning to your camera. In combat sheathe doesn't work. In PvE this isn't a big deal because fighting is more or less static and you keep hitting stuff to break the animation glitch that de-syncs you. In PvP you can spend an entire warzone in combat, you also have to move frequently, this means that once you start moving 6 seconds later or so your character will glitch out and get stuck.
